it's a small number but with how many and how fast he was getting effects it's bound to happen eventually

Effect every 150 meters: Done first try, final time was 3 minutes and 5 seconds. Effect every 100 meters: Took 3 episodes worth of tries, final time was 1 minute 51 seconds. So not only did he complete this after 3 episodes, but he beat his PB in final time by over a minute.
