Billy Squier is an example of talent too good to fail, but not good enough to stand against the politics of the music industry. What a phonemical talent! This is an ALBUM concept where almost every single song is a winner.

He attended the Berkley College of Music. He wouldnt give up his publishing rights, and that made industry execs mad. He is worth $40 million dollars, a large amount of money for a guy who only had a couple great albums. As a comparison, Hall and Oates are worth around $35 million a piece. Daryll Hall HATES the industry. What a voice Billy has!

Billy is so underrated he was huge in the 80s wish more people gave him more credit because he is really talented with such stage presence. Saw him in concert when I was little. Billy Squire was huge in the early to mid 80s when I was in college. Songs you have to check out from the same album are “The Stroke”, “In the Dark” and “My Kinda Lover”. Strangely, one of my favorite songs from Billy Squier though is “Don’t say you Love Me” from one of his later albums….

Billy was the next Led Zeppelin. He had a Plant voice, he & his drummer the late Bobby Chenard had Bonham down, had great guitar prowess including great Telecaster, & Les Paul tones, & was a dynamite songwriter, arranger & self producer. Literally on a certain level, an almost 1 man LZ.

@@Hexon66 I'm sure when you seen the productions in the very early stages of Billy Squier's career, the band was just starting out. But when I seen all three productions, the band had more time behind them which made them tighter, stronger and probably sounded a lot better than what you witnessed. Love Billy Squier, another great 80s rocker you haven’t played yet is Jimmy Barnes. You just have to play his “When Your Love Is Gone, live in concert and you WILL be hooked.

Billy Squier "Don't Say No" Album is great! Every song has its own power. The song "The Stroke" was the 1st song released and the hits just followed from there!!!!!!!

Friday, August 27, 1982 at the Myriad in OKC. Queen in concert with Billy Squier opening. Unforgettable experience. Nothing like seeing Bohemian Rhapsody performed live with Freddie. I still have the ticket.

This is Billy Squire's most "Zeppelinesque" song. His drummer, the late Bobby Chouinard, had that Bonham-style groove.
