It’s about record companies screwing over artists. The companies stroke your ego so you don’t look as close as you should at the contract. Some of the lines are how they bleed artists dry and some lines are advice to “keep your contributions by your side” and “keep your eye on top” of what the record company is doing.

He let other people do the guitar for the video, but this guy is a KILLER on guitar. That is where he excelled as a young man. He kills guitar plus vocals.

Saw Billy S open for QUEEN on their last US Tour in 1982. One of the best concerts overall I ever saw.

This is arguably Billy's most popular song. I saw him in concert about 20 years ago, and could not wait for him to play this song. When he did "The Stroke" he did it like a ballad with an odd reggae backing music. You could have heard a pin drop in the crowd, and there were even a lot of boos when he finished. He and Ted Nugent were opening for Kiss. I'm not a big Nugent fan, but the guy puts on a fantastic show. He saved the night for me. I think Billy let a lot of people down, and Kiss put on the worst show that I have ever seen. They were atrocious.

Billy had a nice voice. And his guitarists knew how to give it more punch. This is always on my playlists
