Is Alex a flight attendant?

From what I understand the left rear door wasn’t evacuated through because they threw out the buring backpack there. It might’ve also been because the doors weren’t armed.

Hi Dan and Alex! Love your podcast. Chicago O'Hare is been the 2nd busiest airport by aircraft movements for few years now. Do you think we will surpass Atlanta anytime soon?

I had the opposite situation when we needed to evacuate the check in area of the airport. Lots of passengers tried to walk out to the assembly area and leave their bags in the check in line "so they didn't lose their place"! I managed to get hold of a couple of them and said "You are leaving your bags UNATTENDED in an airport that is potentially ON FIRE?" Seriously, the logic eludes me!

Next week you must talk about the windows IT outage affecting flights. I'm on a flight and we are delayed indefinately

Gate agent here for a US airline we 100% do care about batteries and the FAA randomly inspects us often even as a smaller airport. We now must place the Valet tags on the bags we cannot even hand them to people so we can ask if they have any batteries.

Enjoyed once again! thank you both. One question, regarding the laptop battery fire incident. Would not the captain or pilot have a voice of authority in such an incident? or did the captain leave all the instructions to the flight attendants? What is the usual procedure?

If this was a Boeing plane people would’ve blamed them for this

The US has zillions of airports. They need to focus customs only on the airports that have international flights. It would be impossible for them to control everyone arriving from abroad in all of their domestic airports at the end.

Why has my comment agreeing that a licence to sit in the exit seat is a good idea, and suggesting we should lobby for this, been deleted?
