I'm really sorry to hear people saying "Boo, just tetris." It's an incredible amount of work to create a game, let alone a game that will play on hardware from the 1980's. I' curious, did write in ASM, or C or something else entirely?

Uh, this looks awesome! :) Might I ask which tools you did use for development? Do you have the same code base for the NES, Game Boy & Arcade versions?

Both the GB and NES versions are written mostly in C, so they actually largely share the same code base, which means they play exactly the same. The VS Arcade version is the same. I use GBDK-2020 and ZGB for the GB and neslib+nesdoug for the NES.

As a tetris hard player, this is one of the best version ever created, music is neat, graphics are incredible, and controls are perfect, It is fun and fast, Truly, I enjoy this version than effects

I don't think I've played that much. What was the twist in Tetris 2?

@@MattHughson You match the 3 colors to destroy the blocks of that color and if you destroy the flashing one at the bottom every blocking that color disappears (not the peaces you dropped. It's like the multiplayer or Dr Mario but single player. Also the pieces are different shapes.

I have a question Matt. I'm developing a game with a similar title but a much different concept for the nes. I'm definitely not as experienced as you but very excited with developing games for nes! Anyway I don't know the legal aspects fully but this topic but I would like to keep my title name & not have to change it if that's ok?

@@gatortimetv3125 Well, no pressure for you to change the name, but I do think it might be in your best interest to change it. I'm not sure if you are aware, but my game, "From Below" originally came out for the NES (this Game Boy version is a port of that game). I think people will be confused by 2 NES games with the exact same name. If they weren't both for the same retro system it probably wouldn't be as big a deal, but both being for the NES makes it extra confusing. I suspect when you start talking about the game, you may get a lot of, "why did you use the same name as another NES homebrew?" questions. Up to you if that matters to you. Ultimately, it's up to you, but if you haven't already committed to the name, I would probably change it. I'm looking forward to seeing it though! Good luck with the development.
