if you are new to break barrels , understand two things about this rifle. it is not for kids. its too powerful. the other thing is when the Dectective talks about cocking effort it is HIGH. You will be surprised how much effort it takes to cock this rifle. The perfromance however is extraordinary. also - the scope that comes with it is the usual low quality offering, and is hazy at any range. I tried the scope and replaced it quickly.

I just got my hunter and out of the box I could tell the front sight was twisted out of alignment- I emailed gamo and let them know - I looked up fixes such as heating up the front sight and twisting it into alignment but I don't want to void the warranty - the shipping package was less than desirable- the barrel had punched through the foam and cardboard box - thankfully they used a beefier box to incase the manufacturer's box - both boxes had a crease in the middle but looking at the rifle it didn't damage it - I bought your trigger and the pellets you ranked high - I fired one shot from the hunter into a commercial plastic drum - went right through it into the ground - I could tell this was a serious beast from one shot - and took some effort cocking it - it's definitely not a toy - it's a serious weapon - it's a man killer with right shot placement
@kdpjsp3 ай бұрын
My front sight suffered the exact same poor packing fate that yours did. My OCD noticed the front sight was clocked slightly off to the right when looking down the barrel. However, I mounted the GAMO scope that came with it, and after zeroing it in, I was shooting nice groups consistently with the AEA Diabolo's in the video. I have to use both hands to load this beast, but I am quite satisfied with the power and accuracy at 40 yards. Pretty amazing for a $300 air rifle. UPDATE: Sent the rifle back and a replacement was quickly sent out. The replacement front sight was clocked correctly, but the red part fell out after the first shot. Luckily I found it and glued it back in. Also one of the rear sight steel pin ends was broken off and missing the c-clip. I'm still waiting for a response from GAMO for a new pin and clip. Not real happy with the lack of quality control.

Hey JC!!! Hope you and your family are all well and happy. It's been a while since I had time to watch videos, so I'm going to be binge watching to catch up. I am glad to start off with one of yours. So, off the bat, I was wondering if the Gamo Hunter Extreme in .25 is worth the money vs. a Gamo Swarm Magnum in .22 because the power plant is the same, and with the SWARM, you have quick follow-up shots, a lightweight, all-weather, rugged, synthetic stock , AND the fpe is essentially the same. Personally, I think not. I do like the beautiful wood stock of the .25, though. If Gamo put a SWARM mechanism and kept iron sights on it, I would buy that version in a heartbeat. But going from .22 to .25 doesn't seem to have that many advantages. More accuracy and stability in windy conditions, and possibly farther ranges can be achieved with heavy slugs. What are your thoughts? Is it worth it to move up in caliber if I already have a bunch of .22 airguns? Thanks for another great video. Stay Safe. Be Well. GOD BLESS.

Hi Ken, I hope you and your son are doing well! If you don't own a .25 caliber, you should. The power is fantastic. Picture the difference between a .177 and a .22. Going from .22 to .25 is a comparable difference. These are great hunters as well and the wood stock is amazing. 😉👍👍

Got mine on the Fourth of July and have loved every shot. That thing is amazing. Not to mention lethal. It shoots like a fine piece of art in both precision and handling. Thanks for the recommendation. It is now in a third place tie for my favorite gun with a Smith and Wesson 38 special police model in just being a pleasure to shoot behind the 44 magnum Smith & Wesson 6 1/2 inch revolver and a 22 Winchester pump action rifle that was made in 1900. I really think you undersell that adjustable Gamo scope. I don't use mine on the 25 but use it with my 22 and I guarantee you at night time it will pick up more light than your scope with its large receiving lens. I don't know why anyone would use a scope at all with those beautiful iron sites that were cited perfectly for me on arrival. My very first shot at 12 yards was a bull's-eye that went through a very thick book and the plywood behind it. ✌️❤️🖖

I have been a machinist for all my adult life, worked in over 20 different non-union shops (where the skill is needed), have engineering degrees related to manufacturing and now have my own little shop. The method you described to drill the hole in the rail is a very good method. But I might add one process. If you can get a reamer the same size as the pin, (would be a slight interference fit), or up to .001" larger, it would be a very solid mounting hole. For that, you would use a drill bit about .010" smaller in diameter than the reamer. Personally, I would use a pin just a bit bigger in diameter than the hole in your ring, so I am removing a bit of material with the drill (before the reamer), to keep the hole dead center on the rail for a perfect fit. When you are drilling where there is already a hole (the scope ring), the drill or reamer will follow the hole that is there with very good accuracy. I also know that this gun will want to oblong the holes in the rail, so a bigger pin with a perfect fit should reduce that greatly. Doug in Michigan
@EarthSurferUSA28 күн бұрын
If you went to a hardware store, you can find a hardened dowel for the pin. With standard dowel sizes, you could get a reamer that is .001" over size for a good fit over the dowel. In that case, you can pick a bigger diameter pin/dowel that can be drilled in both the ring and the rail. That might stop the mushrooming effect on the rail with the smaller pins that may be a bit sloppy in the hole. A better fit on a bigger dowel, means a lot more surface area to fight the mushrooming effect of the rail hole. Good idea to have 2 holes. My gun only has one, and I think I will fix that. :)
@EarthSurferUSA28 күн бұрын
Tip for hand drilling. With a hole already in the ring, let the drill find center and drill the hole, being careful to not hold the drill on some angle. Hold the hand drill lightly and as straight as you can, and the drill going though the hole, (cutting some material for a bigger hole), will follow the hole, for a nice, almost mill like, straight hole.
@EarthSurferUSA28 күн бұрын
Oh, with the reamer drill (slightly smaller than the reamer by about .010"), if you drill a bigger hole than the ring has, you can also get reamers that are .001" under size of the dowel. So you can get (for example), a dowel press fit for the ring, and a slip fit on the rail with the .001" oversize reamer. Then when you take it apart, you won't lose the dowel as it would stay in the ring. Would require 2 reamers. Not a big deal really, but is standard for dowels.

Nice video but you need to tell people soon as you take the rifle of the bench the point of impact is going to change drastically you will need to learn how to shoot the rifle because of the type of reversible recoil that the rifle produces and will have a effect on your rifle from shot to shot and that’s with all spring powered guns so in other words if you sight the gun in this way in the video and then go hunting the rifle is no longer sighted in and your going to miss your intended target you need to practice off hand shooting and how to hold the rifle he left that part out other then that important part good video

The best way to shoot a springer,---is to not touch it. Now you can get accuracy and repeatability by holding the rifle anyway you want, but you have to hold it the exact same way for ever shot (all human contact points in the same place, with same pressure, which also includes the cheek and shoulder pressure), but that is pretty much humanly impossible to repeat those forces that effect the vibration of the gun, and the location of the muzzle when the pellet leaves it. So, touch the gun as little as possible, putting as close to zero force into the stock as possible, and your 40 yard groups will become 60 yard and plus groups. That bad part about holding the gun with such a light touch,--is simply pulling the trigger wants to move the gun much easier. But with practice and a light trigger, it is manageable. Even with a bad trigger, you can still get used to it for great groups, but more of a challenge. It is simply easier to be repeatable with zero force on the stock, and let the gun vibrate the same, as if it were hanging from 2 strings. Gun tests from 20-40 yards, are pretty much useless for me. I can shoot any break barrel gun very well with those yards, and my technique. Doug in Michigan

It's to bad Gamo's customer service stinks at least in the States. How does one go about getting a new air piston or mechanical spring, piston seals when they fail? I have 3 different models that didn't last 2 years I guess I would like mechanical springs over air pistons since they seem to last longer then these air pistons are lasting and Gamo doesn't seem to want to send me any replacement parts.

Well that turned out to be a bad choice of air rifle. The first few shots were great but then it lost almost half its power and I am now in the process of sending it back. I kept that piece of junk in a sealed case and never put it away dirty yet it's picking up bits of rust already. Really had my hopes up for this thing. What a letdown😢.

I really enjoyed the review....but...yes but... how can a disposable rifle get 5 stars? Gamo's policy is THEY DO NOT SELL PARTS FOR ANY RIFLE THEY SELL...😂...so this beautiful break barrel only needs to have a minor maintenance issue and it's garbage...all break barrel rifles spring or gas ram will need to have the spring or piston replaced at one point and when you contact Gamo they don't sell parts.. period...all will need a piston seal..every last one of em will need piston seal replacement... Gamo won't sell it to you 😂.... Gamo = disposable junk...I'm not trying to drag Gamo through the mud..just stating facts... just trying to inform others before they buy this garbage THE WAY I WISH SOMEONE WOULD HAVE INFORMED ME BEFORE I PUT MY RIFLE/ MONEY IN THE TRASH...

Mike so true !! I've had 7 out of 11 Junko ( Gamo ) brake barrels bad right out of the box ! Bad barrels ' bad seals one of them the first time I shot it or should I say tried to shoot it the whole magazine and all of its parts broke off of the gun ! Yes I did say magazine it was a swarm Magnum ! So I share your opinion if you're thinking about buying a Gamo just flush your money down the toilet at least that way you won't have to worry about how to fix a piece of junk !!

@@zap7759...I'm going to share a little knowledge with you that you will either learn right now or you will learn with the passage of time... no parts will ever be superior or equivalent to OEM components...if you open up the engine or transmission of your car/truck and want it right.. replace with OEM if you want it mickey mouse/ if you want problems go aftermarket... this is true with cars..trucks.. motorcycles.. rifles.. pistols..you name it

Sad part about a kit like this is paying for the pellets, scope ect ect.. gamo pellets are garbage (use em for break in a guess) and the scope is nothing more than a paper weight.... if they just sold the gun alone for 180-200 ide buy one in a heart beat. But I'm not paying for the "extras" that serve me zero value.
@Light_3578 ай бұрын
OF COURSE on the video it’s one hole as fraction of the size of the .5 inch groups you said the chosen pellets shot. Well maybe slightly smaller 🤷♂️. People that put any weight other than entertainment in this channel are crazy. Lol Every gun you have ever done tests exactly the same.

Very interesting! I used to get similar groups out of my Gamo Shadow .25 with Jsb Exact Kings (25.39gr) 🤔. Funny tho that with open sights at around 18yds meant that I had to go & check the p.o.i of pellets after each shot 👨🏽🦯. 1st few times trying to 0 it, I was absolutely disgusted that I kept missing the whole entire target only to quickly find out it was just 1 hole, pellet on pellet 😅 awesome accuracy, think you're right maybe there's some BSA hammer forged wizardry involved with the barrels 🤷🏽♂️
