Pretty effective but armors like these can have a dangerous effect. When someone attacks you with a knife he is on pure adrenaline and instinctively tries to hit a spot where he can harm you. When he unsuccessfully tries to stab your chest or stomach he will reflexively go for your neck to bring you down and those attacks are the deadliest. It is more likely to survive knife attacks to the chest or stomach than attacks to the neck. This armor is a good thing but it just makes sense if you are into self defense and know how to react and protect yourself after the first blocked attack. If you don't know what to do in case of an attack or if you start to panic the armor will draw the attention of the offender straight to your neck. It is like some risky lottery.

You want logic? It's called center mass, it's where most if not all of your vital organs are. Snipers aim there, trained military personnel, armed police, basically anything that requires using weaponry aims for center mass it's just an easy target with an easy kill, that's why helmets can't stop bullets they can barely stop shrapnel, they're made that way because nobody in the right frame of mind aims above the chest plus bullet proof helmets are way too heavy.

Vinay Desai worked out to be $1200 Australian. Ended up selling that vest and getting a plate carrier and a $400 stab plate. The vest was too heavy duty even for a “covert” style. The plate carrier fits under a work uniform better and offers more manoeuvrability / dexterity. But if I was a police officer who’s Main risk was edged weapons I’d buy form ppss

if an attacker tried to be discreet of course he will go for the torso, a strike to the arm is hardly impossibly fatal, a strike to the legs? why would you try to stab someone on their leg? they can kick you before you even try to do so, plain stupid, neck is mostly logical, if you expect the target to wear a body armor, if u hit somone they sure will react to it, this aint no dummy target, as for a strike to the head, it would be easily seen but hardly reactably, would probably work, but certainly not discreet, a strike from behind the head requires considerable force asa to penetrate the thick skull but its mostly the same as from the front edit if the attacker was just some dangerous people in the neighborhood then they would just shoot you without bothering to come close
