The biggest benefit to decent bits at Walmart was when they were 24 hours. With limited hours, I'll be heading to HD

Hart has been turning out good products at reasonable prices. I've bought a lot of Hart products in the last 2 years and I find them to be convenient and easy to use. Most of what I'm doing is on the weekends and only takes 10 minutes to 2 hours.

Even though I already own a cordless drill that I’m pleased with, I picked up the Hart impact driver & drill combo. What I love about them: the impact driver is smaller and, my opinion, more manageable for someone with smaller hands and the drill is 1/2 inch. Most cordless drills are 1/4 inch. I passed on this kit but, picked up the 3 piece 6 inch impact driver bit set. How many times have you encountered a tight space and had to finish driving a screw with a manual screwdriver? I always run into that situation and it drives me nuts! There are some things I like about this kit...maybe it’s worth it for those items. 🤷🏻♀️

I just realized a few days ago that this is the original Hart Hammers brand and logo. Hart was the first with the California framer hammer. Funny thing, walmart sells "Hart" hammers too, BUT not the original Harts. You have to go elsewhere for the good hammers.

Just put down 500 sq. ft. of 1x4 IPE a type of Brazilian walnut which is the 2nd hardest of all woods for those who may not know. The contractor sold the homeowner on 1x4 instead of 5/4 stock because that was what was available from a certain supplier he goes to. A camo gun hidden install requires minimum 5/4 thickness (1 in actual) and they werent routed to accept ipe clips and i sure as hell wasn't routing all that stock, there was already a 3/32 thickness discrepancy between half the order so i was already dealing with that putting me behind schedule. So instead I was face screwing 2.5 inch T10 stainless trim heads. I started with the free GRK driver that comes in the box and pre drilling a 1/8 pilot followed by setting it with an impact gun. I spun every tip off i had in the 3 boxes of screws by quitting time. The next morning I switched out the impact for a reg cordless drill to drive the screws smoothly and to hedge my bets i also bumped up my pilot to 5/32 and a dewalt T10 max fit driver, i went through 2 drivers by the end of the day, better but still no good. After a run to the hardware store I grabbed 3 milwaukee shockwave T10 drivers and those outshined dewalt and GRK brands. I did spin 1 off so far but it lasted me all day and some of the following day so im extremely pleased with the quality of the shockwave drivers. It wasnt an ideal application but it came out looking great and im proud of the work i did

I always hit the like button before I watch the video because I know it's going to be good. I recently got a new Milwaukee Shockwave 120 piece drill/driver bit set for only $24.88 to use with my 7 year old Milwaukee M18 drill and impact driver kit. I love it!

Ive got 10 year old m18 drill and impact kit that still is better than half of the newer budget stuff, the batterys have lost a bit of power but they still get it done. Im impressed, ive been trying to kill them for 3 years now so i can go get some new brushless ones.

Got a Ryobi drill from home Depot and a drill bit set from Hart to put some patio furniture together and the bits stripped. The regular ones in the 70 pack, switched to the titanium ones and they were better. Picked up a basic set of Ryobi.

There are very old quick change bit sets that came out with the notch cut in the end that mounts into the quick change collet that mounts into the drill chuck the same as the impact drive chucks of today. Most of the higher end new impact driven bits have a reduced shank just above the business end of the bit for prevention of breaking screws and other fasteners off with the impact action. Milwaukie has the best rated ones followed closely by Dewalt. I often wonder would I rather loose a screw in a piece of wood or end up replacing the broken screwdriver bits. I live on a farm and it's not like a run to the shopping center when you need things were talking about a half hour drive one way. You need good tools that will hold up to use and sometimes a little abuse.

I use Kobalt XTR power tools and I only purchase XTR bit kits which have done well for me so far BUT I always keep Milwaukee Shock-wave and Dewalt on hand because they have been put through their paces through their paces and found to be dependable.

I feel like this is the exact same as the Ryobi set I bought my mom or Christmas. I got her this set and gave her my old Gen 1 M12 drill, so I don't have to constantly take my tools when I go to her house and she asks me to do something. I haven't been there since Christmas, but I feel it was if not the same really close. I kinda assumed that Hart and Ryobi would probably share bit sets and replace labels. Can we see a Hart vs Ryobi bit challenge?

That kit is an exact copy of a Ryobi kit that’s been around for a long time, sans the green plastic. The Ryobi kit even had the nail set. I got use out of it around the house, and if your in a pinch this kit would suffice. But with the deals and steals always around on the big 3 kits, I would just stock up on them when they are on sale.

Well, I have this same driver and kit, and It wore my #2 right down. I don't know why it went half way through my 2 x 4, and it would not drive any further, for some reason. I tried a couple screws, however, I had no problems with the driver bit that actually came with the impact driver. It worked great. I couldn't believe that that particular drill bit, in the kit, just continually ate out the head of my screws.

The biggest reason for the extra wobble on the spax screws when not using the included bit is because there’s an extra little indent in the spax screw which the included spax bit fills by having a little extra piece on the bit. This is for the torx bits of course.

The cut in the shaft on the spade bits does not necessarily mean its impact rated. Several drills are made with no real chuck just a 1/4 inch drive to accept bits and drivers with 1/4 drive ends. I have a Craftsman drill/driver set that I’ve had for over 25 years. First thing you needed to do was insert the 1/4 inch adaptor into your corded or “brand new” cordless drill then all the other items in the case would fit into that adapter. Unless the manufacturer states “impact rated” I would be careful about assuming that to be true
@andrewmiller51453 жыл бұрын

Anyone know if kobalt will come out with a pack out type system to attach to the rolling tough box that my 5 piece xtr set came in because it seems like the perfect base for such mentioned system especially with everyone else doing them I've been kinda bummed they haven't came up with something like that yet. I absolutely love the xtr kobalt tools and would be nice to have attachable cases to hold fasteners and bits etc. I would really love to see something come out very very soon for that setup in the kobalt blue and black colors before I have to break down and buy the craftsman system or likewise. Any info on this would be wonderful and helpful to me or if someone could pass it on to lows as I'm not the most computer savvy type person, thanks .

Very few of these companies actually make the "lower end" parts. Craftsman, Kobalt, Ryobi, etc...are distribution companies. They R&D, design, market and SOURCE the tools, but other companies MAKE the bits, blades, sockets and hand tools.

Its literally quality over quantity. I use a lot of bosch professional bits and drivers and i dont bother with those 200+ kits because more often than not you want be needing half of it or half of it wont be fit for purpose. Better to spend a bit more and get smaller sets for what you need, like a set of professional brad point bits, separate set of tct masonry bits.

I basically just use these cheaper kits as consumables. We're always training guys that have never used a drill cant swing a hammer or drive a bolt. Of course 90 percent of them are lost and the other ten percent destroyed from misuse. the amount of Phillips bits and 5/16th/tap con drivers that are stripped because 18-25 year olds are afraid to push forward and DRIVE things in is astounding. So i keep a few contractor grade things in my personal tool box but use the cheap shit unless absolutely necessary around others.
