Have a TS6.130... had to grow on me a bit, but I've grown to like it so far. That thing works great for mowing, raking, bale hauling, and odd jobs. Very stable tractor for ditches. Couple things I don't like about it, but it's nice much lower cost machine. Looking at least starting $10-20k lower price vs a t5 or t6 for when you don't need all those features. As for the rough shift up for highway gears (3rd or 4th high), back off on the RPMs simultaneously when shifting the dual power up... Think of it driving a big rig floating gears.

I've noticed that my state has gone to Ventrac for highway mowing, great on side slopes.

It’s basically the old transmission like the 8600 7710 and the Tw series just has sincronisers in the 4 box
@golfy8085 жыл бұрын
Maybe the "TS" relates to the old familiar ts series... Like ts110.. With dual command transmission ??? The hi-low is very old school carried on by Ford/Fiat and was very popular and can also be very useful when ploughing for example,, being able to powershift down when the going gets tough is very handy!!
@ferguson20diesel495 жыл бұрын
Andrew Gaulton like the troublesome sle year box in 40 series ford
@golfy8085 жыл бұрын
@@ferguson20diesel49 not really... SLE was powershift.. Only troublesome when the tips of the switches which told the ecu which range/direction you had selected wore out. Update them to the later type with metal ends and keep it calibrated and they were sweet. SL box was manual without a powershift function. Trans shown here is dual command
@ferguson20diesel495 жыл бұрын
Andrew Gaulton had both. Sl-dp and sle. Box went in both. Cable stretches on sle and won’t stay in gear. Fuses. Bad wiring. Once you know those things they were great. But neither was a fantastic puller even with a turbo fitted. Our fiat 110-90 always won that match even tho it’s just a straight 6
@golfy8085 жыл бұрын
@@ferguson20diesel49 yeah the cables were a problem.. But easily replaceable! I thought the 8340 pulled like shit on the road.. Plenty of power!! I'm a fan of both.. I can't choose one or the other.. Fiat/Ford!!

Geeze now I feel old. I ran an old international 1206 back in my teens (almost 50 now, what the hell happened?)that you picked your gear and took off. Also ran an 806 that had the high low shift which I really liked. And now I'm watching Niel shift a tractor like a pickup truck. Geeze...

My county seems to buy these for beach sweeping and then scraps 'em every 5-6 years.
@CharlieArehart15 жыл бұрын
do you really mean they scrap them (as in, they have no value)? or might it be they are instead selling/trading them in to buy newer versions (simply because they do hold good value, or they have budget they "need" to spend, or perhaps they're simply on a 5-year depreciation schedule)?
@sandy16535 жыл бұрын
@@CharlieArehart1 They get scrapped, as in they have no value left due to corrosion issues. These tractors spend all their lives going up and down the beach pulling beach groomers or being used to empty trash cans and similar chores. EDIT: I should point out that I live in Florida, and beach grooming is a 365 day a year chore for the County.

Sandy you don't need to work a tractor on the beach where I am in Scotland for them to get severely rusted out. We get 50mph wind commonly in winter and it blows salt spray from the sea all over our island and in just a couple years trailers, power harrows, ploughs etc. can rust solid if left out in the elements.

I know the title is mislabeled but is there any chance they make a TS6.100 or a Workmaster 100?
@seanbarrows35012 жыл бұрын
Nice video, though it may leave more questions. I assume it has a power shuttle as you somewhat demonstrated with the backup alarm. Since I may be in the market for a boom mower, looking for the best option for a power unit, be it green, blue or red, but want to get the right features. It would seem to me that the CVT would be the ideal choice for a boom mower as opposed to the dual power.?? And is this the 25 mph transmission for roading?
@seanbarrows35012 жыл бұрын
Which is cheaper, clutch replacement or CVT upgrade, or more PS range?

That transmission seems very similar to the old Massey Speedshift transmission. It's not a bad transmission but you don't want to kid yourself into thinking that it's a partial powershift transmission like the others. Still not too bad for an economy model.
