Those cones are brilliant will try to copy. Thanks.

Beautiful. I've been rolling cones out of paper tape, sticky side out, covering the outside of the cone with one ply of tissue, and soaking it in siperglue. This looks like it may be lighter, and definitely more uniform. Good game, man!

they really do work... and easy to make i will say this they are very very light... next weeks video i try to sort out all the problems. it was largely a success. there are some issues with the dart being too light BUT they are accurate. i did change the way i connect the cap... that video will only come out on the 29th of May...

I can't wait! I actually have a friend making me a metal mold for cones like what you showed in your previous dart making video
@huntingforhearts3 жыл бұрын
Nice man yes these do work but they don't have the "punch" of the proper plastics I am use to... you get about half the penetration. Which is fine for birds but not so good for bigger game

The cone thing is genius your forgings pretty decent but when you make those darts maybe you should try sharpen and decides of them like a razor blade what you doing there just the basics pierpoint if you want to cause internal bleeding when you hit something you want to make it sharp on the sides an animal will fill up with blood
@huntingforhearts3 жыл бұрын
So David I get your point. But I am using the darts for smaller game note that the "head" is not for cutting it is for the barbs... The wight of the dart does the trick of bringing the bird down I do sharpen the blades when going after rabbit and larger

To fix the "caps" flexing and expanding. Just add some hot glue from a glue gun into the back. The extra weight will also increase stability and penetration at longer distances.

Would you be able to buy the Tim Wells blowgun and try test it? I’ve seen him kill big animals on his channel like hogs (newest video) and other stuff and maybe you could try as well. (just a tip, you can tighten and loosen the cap on the dart to allow it to fall off and allow the dart to penetrate deeper when it hits the animal)
@huntingforhearts3 жыл бұрын
yes i know that "trick" but that's why my darts are 25 cm long... so o don't lose caps and steel. The biggest thing i have hunted was a caracal (15kg cat) but our animals are wild average shot on pigs i take is 350 meters... things are wild! Tim Wells uses a blowgun the same bore as what i use. The only difference is Tim has a pipe that costs R 2,000 my pipe costs R 60... i think the blowgun people choose for hunting is up to the individual some will prefer a fancy pipe with dart holders... others really don't care. for me, i think it would detract from my channel. i am trying to show anyone can go hunting... cheaply. in other words you can drive a Ferrari... but you are limited to the same speed as my Fortuna... but let me stop rambling have a awesome day and God bless!
@animalscars37993 жыл бұрын
@@huntingforhearts thanks for the explanation and on another note, when you said Fortuna did you mean the SUV by Toyota? Also, can you send me the link for the mouthpiece for the blowgun as that’s the only thing I need to finish my blowgun. Thanks in advance 👍
@huntingforhearts3 жыл бұрын
@@animalscars3799 yea and yes I can... the mouthpiece may differ form mine considerably I have started molding mouthpiece and handles for blowguns... I hope to start selling them online soon
@LKH9Channel3 жыл бұрын
exactly my thought. A blowgun is just a hollow tube, you can use whatever that works. Afterall, your technique and how well made the darts only matter. Tim Wells blowgun is just a 6061 T6 aluminium tube. You can buy those pipes yourself without being ripped off. A soda bottle is good enough for a mouthpiece. ~It's not the pen/brush/camera, it's the artist.

House sparrow, common staring, feral pigions,.... The list goes on 😂😂😂 all can be hunted without a permit in California... However I am not sure if you need a license for a blowgun.
