This is the best engine and drive train combination known to man. My family rides a 40 year old z50r and it’s so much fun. They hit a home run when they designed this and haven’t changed much since then keeping it wonderfully simple and reliable.

lol yeah buddy, this engine platform hasn't changed in quite a few decades! My 1984 Z50R sounds identical to it too and still runs like a champ, it's hard to beat a Honda! ...I might be a tiny bit biased though lol!

Looks really sharp looking. But when I read spec changes I thought the 50 was coming fuel injected. But besides that the bike looks great and they are built like tanks I'm 44 years old and I still beat the hell out of my 50.

I wish! A lot of people still prefer the carb for ease of working on it should something go wrong and I used to say the same thing... but not anymore! Give me fuel-injection so I can easily tune it to get some more power and not fool around with jetting it or it clogged up from this ethanol fuel they're forcing down our throats. lol same here man, gotta love mobbing on a 50 and especially with a few buddies together. There's nothing more fun than bringing back our childhood ripping around like there's not a worry in the world lol!

I've got a rd 200 yamaha 1974 .you.dont need big cc.s to have fun kawasaki used to make a 90 cc street bike factory small.light lots of fun

I think an adjustable reach front brake lever would be nice for the little kids with little hands. Sight glass for oil level checks and better suspension.

Oh, to be 6 again, looks like great fun. On the Chinese thing, years ago I bought the wife one. I figured what a great way to learn. It had what they call a rotary transmission, that means you can shift from 1st to 4th and 4th to 1st and round and around. The trans lasted 17 miles. Between the headache of being shipped, the first one was completely destroyed and the lack of support and parts. I would never do it again. I gave it away. You will never be disappointed with the quality of a Honda and they are worth every cent.

lol I hear ya bud! It'd be so nice to rewind the clocks for just a little bit... Oh yeah, those transmissions are something else lol! Thanks for sharing your story. A lot of people don't think about certain things like parts and support etc until it's too late. Sometimes you can get lucky but it's definitely a gamble at the end of the day and we buy these to ride them, not to wrench on them every time they've been ridden. You're spot on with that last sentence but some would say I'm biased haha ;)

I'm trying to convince my mom to let me get one of these. The main reason is for the reliability, quietness, and speed since I live in a suburban area. I've been looking into some of the "knock offs" but they all are missing one of these key things. Only problem is the cost. My mom said she could almost buy me two of the new Xbox's for the price of this bike.

You're a smart kid! Brings back memories of trying to convince my mom to buy me that next toy I wanted lol! A lot of used CRF50F prices are extremely high right now because of the used market being swayed due to the shortage of new units but it'll level back out real soon. Then, I would show her the prices of a nice used one and remind her that when you sell it to upgrade or go another route etc, you'll be able to recoup the money due to their resale value staying so strong. Best of luck on it all though bud and hopefully you'll be on 2 wheels soon ;)

I hope you get 1 kid..it will stay forever as long as you change engine oil and service maintenance in time..1 litre gas can go 60 km at least..pretty cheap..then when you grow up you can pass it to your kid and fix that together..you will be best dad..i have same type semi auto engine its stay strong until now 59000 km..

Honda realy should make the rd 150 street legal. Companys have been doing it for years kawasaki had a 9o.cc street bike I've got a rd 200.yamaha works fine for me greate co.muter bikes smaller is lighter and easier to control..honda shoud make it street legal the 150.then I.d buy one

Fuel injection is better in a way but honda had a real good reason for leaveing it carberated.. Honda has always did odd things for odd reasons always even the cr 500 a rocket bulldozer then honda stoped make ing them who knows why but if I remember correctly honda bikes all the smaller ones were always made in Japan Not china.. Chinese stuff from day 1 is all garbage never lasts and falls apart if the honda 50 the new one is made in china ..no thank keep.it Chinese stuff is junk
