It is a kids bike and really it’s not even that it’s a junk play bike one of them Chinese junks would be a better bike than this I got a 2023 I’m selling it it’s brand new I hate it slow as a turd 4 speed the plastic mounts the same way as there 50 play bikes it just junk not an opinion either put it up against a ttr and work on them you’ll see I have them both my kids do and the Yamaha is a delight compared to this turd o and that xr 100 was a great bike these are just cheaper build quality and 5 times the money screw Honda never again and it’s a slug on top of everything

I know it it a little late but I got this bike about 2 months ago to learn on. This bike is so easy to control and it's not the fastest bike but the power is right there when you need it. The Honda's are a little bit more than the Yamaha's and the Kawasaki's but it is built like a tank and starts right up even in 10 degree weather. Every time I see it in the garage I just want to hop on and rip around the yard.

I got my crf 125 big wheel yesterday (Dec 31) which is also my birthday. It's my first dirtbike but I've been driving quads my whole life. I was driving it through snow and it's pretty nice for handling. There is a lot of room if you are new to using a clutch as a little drop on the clutch won't kill the bike as on my 450 Kawasaki quad it will. One thing I wish was the factory shifter too be a little farther away from the footpeg. I have size 11 boots and I have to squeeze my foot down under to shift up. Otherwise, it's a nice bike.

I got a 23 big wheel version for my son, he loves it! We threw on an FMF exhaust for some extra cool sounds and it's an absolute blast, to be honest I think I'm having more fun with it than him! I exceed the weight limit because I'm over 200 lbs, but this bike has the power to pull my 6'2" heavy frame up hills, no problem. I definitely would recommend the big wheel for a smaller adult like your wife, teenager or even aunt Sue! It's super forgiving and it definitely doesn't feel as heavy as it is when you're riding the more technical trails. Great bike! I would like a rear disc brake and at minimum an adjustable rear suspension, but like you said that's just gonna add to the cost and it's already great the way it is.

@tinosmo1 my son is around the same as yours. We have the raised seat and the stiff rear spring, and that brought the bike up a couple inches. It's a little small, but he likes it because it's easy to manage. This is his first bike. He's probably only got a year left on it, and then we'll probably be going with a crf250f or klx 230 or something similar to those.

100%! I've been saying this for years to Honda reps... They could get by with a very cheap hour meter on them, it doesn't have to be anything fancy but thankfully there are cheap aftermarket options out there. However, you'd think in 2022 it would be a standard feature by now.

Is the fuel injection open loop or closed? This makes a BIG difference here in the west where one may traverse from, say, 5000' altitude to 10,000+.

While I agree 100%, I don't see the Big Wheel getting any love in the transmission department unless it's done to both units as the cost savings for eliminating the two different platforms with the CRF80F / CRF100F to these that share the majority of the same parts is helping Honda save some money. It'd be nice to see a return of the CRF150F but with the Big Wheel being around, it'd be hard to make it make sense in the grand scheme of things.

At 5'7 and growing, the CRF125F would be too small in my opinion. I would lean towards the CRF125FB if they don't have any experience but if they've been riding for a while, they could side saddle the CRF250F and then you wouldn't have to worry about getting anything larger until they're an adult and then they can buy their own lol ;)

Did they make the crf125f with a carb at any point? I have a crf125f that's carbureted, but I bought t used and think maybe it was stolen at one point in its life or it was just trashed. But I was told its a 2015 crf125f. I got it for cheap so I didn't care. It was between it or a xr100, which is what I was actually looking for, similar price but the bike looked nice in photos and was a bit closer. I am unsure of actual history of the bike.

Yessir, they sure did. 2014-2018 CRF125F models had a carb and they went fuel injected with a few other tweaks in 2019.

You have so much more dirtbikes in the states. Here in Germany you can only get the CRF 125F, 110F, 150F, 250R, 450R and both dual sports. Thats it. No RX RWE and whatever models you have

It's pretty crazy how different the offerings are from country to country. We're lucky to have a lot of different models but there are some countries that have quite a few models we don't have. I'd love to ask each country why they pick this model or that model to import and not this one and find out their reasoning behind it all, it'd be super interesting!

It'd be nice if all you had to do was throw those larger wheels on there to create your own big wheel there's more to their differences than just the wheels with them having different: swingarms, suspension, gearing and handlebars. Hope that helps ;)

It's not so much about height as much as it is your inseam. Another thing to think about too is if you're younger (apparently a lot of kids watch my dirt bike videos) or if you're already grown and if you're comfortable on your toes or side saddling it. Depending on your inseam, you're right there on that border between the two of them so I would definitely recommend throwing a leg over them both to see which one you're ultimately more comfortable on. If possible, I'd lean towards the Big Wheel as the suspension travel difference is a nice upgrade. I'm sorry I can't give you a concrete answer right off the bat, there are a lot of variables that come into play but I hope that was of some help bud ;)

Hi. I want a to buy a 125cc bike that will be just as comfortable on the road (would never use it on the motorway) as off. I'm a beginner rider so condemned under UK law to the smaller-engine bikes. I won't really be using it off road at all, but I live in the countryside where the roads are often muddy and there are some unpaved roads around, too. So I want that good suspension, high wheel clearance (sorry, I have no technical vocabularly at all for bikes). What would you recommend? Thanks very much.

It's definitely capable enough for what you plan to use it for but it's not street legal so you may run into some problems with the police. They may be very relaxed over there though when it comes to that though. If you guys had the Trail 125, I'd recommend that one but to my understanding it's still not being imported in your area. I would recommend either the Monkey or Grom so you have something street legal, small, super easy to ride and you can take them anywhere. The Monkey has a more off-road'ish tire than the Grom but you can throw knobbies on the Grom too for around $100. Hopefully that gives you something to think about and best of luck ;)

Wasn’t this crf125f the replacement of crf150f instead of crf80f

No sir, the CRF125F replaced the CRF80F and the CRF125FB replaced the CRF100F. Technically, there was never a "replacement" slotted into the lineup to replace the CRF150F when it was discontinued. Honda didn't go off of engine displacement sizes when replacing them but rather their seat heights. If you check out the CRF80F to CRF125F, you'll see they match up and it's the same with the CRF100F to CRF125FB. Hope that helps in explaining it all ;)

That's a good question... The enthusiast and fanboy inside of me says yes but maybe that's just because I want to buy a new one lol and would line up to get the first one. However, I understand why they may not want to because of how sales for sport quads have dipped so much and the market isn't there like it used to be. I was selling them back in 2006-2007 at their prime and I was selling them when they slowly started to fizzle off before Honda just stopped manufacturing them in 2014 and had them leftover in the warehouse for quite some time after. So much so that they waited, if my memory is correct, until around late 2015ish before they made an announcement to us dealers that they weren't going to be bringing them back but would continue to evaluate the market to see if they should bring them back. Long story short, if I was a betting man I'd say we won't see its return anytime soon. Sadly... I could be wrong though and I hope I am lol but I'd bet money we definitely won't see one in the next couple years and then after that it all just depends on what the market is doing and what people are buying etc.

Two things Honda's engineering completely miss the mark on...1) The horribly cheap chainguard. Noticeably warped on the showroom floor. Most simply remove it..I've been taught to never remove a guard... I'm holding Honda engineers responsible. 2) The kickstand is about 1.5" too short. Leans way too much. Again, engineers completely missed this obvious issue.
