I really enjoyed your commentary and thoughts about the cbr1000rr. I recently purchased one and you were spot on about the bike's ability to be tame, for lack of a better word. Thx Fish

Thanks Mr fish for the honest review, I was thinking of buying this bike coming from a SV650S so your thoughts on the bike helps me think the CBR1000RR is still a fantastic road bike, sorry, superbike for the road.

If you havent tryed the 2015 bmw s1000rr, you should try it if you can. Compare these two bikes on low end pull and comfort. Im 6'2 and think the s1000rr was a beast.. Mine had full akrapovic and HP programing. Put down 196 HP on the weel. Thinking about boying a s1000rr again or this cbr. Love the looks of the cbr but im also like Cruise Control and the heated grips. And been thinking about tuning the s1000rr into a s1000r looks and bars better comfort but still the power of the s1000rr.

I bought this bike a few months back (chopped in my old CBR600F-ABS) and this is a totally different animal but in the same breath its very familiar! There are a lot of people saying "stay away from the Honda's due to box full of neutrals...but its an absolutely fab bike to ride and enjoy. Its lighter than my old bike and running cost is surprisingly good considering its a litre bike! More than enough bike for most and certainly enough for the British roads! If your thinking about getting this bike I would say go the extra and get the quick-shifter.. you won't be disappointed!

Could you please make a similar review and a direct comparison to an R1??? I really love these 2 bikes and i cant decide between the two of them. The engine of the R1 is phenomenal, but the looks and the smoothness of the honda suit me better.I really cannot pick one...
@Cdog79
@Cdog79 5 жыл бұрын
Iordanis Kimpritis I haven’t ridden the 2017 CBR1000RR but I own a 2008 CBR1000RR and a 2015 R1. From my experience the comparison is pretty much what most reviews say, the Cbr just does everything so nice! It’s easy to ride and manoeuvre, the power delivery is so smooth and linear. It gives you confidence and you kinda feel at one with the bike. The R1 has that excitement factor from the cross plane engine and would be a track weapon, however as a rode bike it’s throttle is very snatchy initially and the clutch bites very late. I think my 2008 is a better road bike. I can only imagine the 2017 cbr would be even better.
@christopheralonge7758
@christopheralonge7758 3 жыл бұрын
The new R1 is super uncomfortable and has a super leaned over racy riding position. It's 25lbs heavier than the cbr 1000 . and I personally didn't like that crossplane motor. Go with the honda
@charilaospapadimitriou5629
@charilaospapadimitriou5629 3 жыл бұрын
@@christopheralonge7758 thank you very much for the response. You are a little late, I have already bought the r1. You are absolutely right, it is a pain in the ass the riding position. The motor is fine but the gearing can be improved. I think that the new blade is much worse road bike than the previous one.

@@charilaospapadimitriou5629 good info thank you. I had a 2018 R1. I didn't like it at all. Throttle wad too snatch. Just a difficult bike to enjoy
@charilaospapadimitriou5629
@charilaospapadimitriou5629 3 жыл бұрын
@@christopheralonge7758 you are absolutely right. I have bought the 2019 one. I do not mind the throtlle response, I do not like the too long first gear and and how weak is the motor at the low revs. It is like riding a two stroke. The bike is too rigid and stiff and the roads in Greece are really really bad. Riding comfort is close to zero and I usually wear wrist bands since my hands are having hard times. In any case, I do not regret it. It was my dream bike. A have a 2008 fazer so I do not use the r1 every day (hard to believe that anyone does...)

Work isn't it? Say you earn £30,000 or $30,000 a year, yeah, you'll get taxed and have to pay for bills and shit, but really, you just have to wait maybe 2 or 3 years or so, not anything longer than that, then you'll probably get a pay rise or something, and even if you don't get a pay rise, you can after a couple years or so buy a honda cbr1000rr as you'll have the money for it. But see, the problem is though, it's not buying the bike that's the problem, but the insurance, road tax, services, ect but hey, at least 30k a year will be good though?

@Somewhere over the 🌈 why, I already own a cbr900rr and a cbr600f4. I'd gladly take my 900 over any modern bike
@robbieracer3294
@robbieracer3294 4 жыл бұрын
@@Clarkkent163 with all of the different varietys of bikes out now, I'd never pay over 8-9k for any motorcycle. Just aren't worth it to me as I still own my 96 cbr900rr and cbr600f4. The 900 in my opinion was Honda's last good sport bike. I mean the 929 and 954 were OK even though they only lasted a couple of years. The only modern fireblade i'd get is the 2012 red, white and blue anniversary edition as it's the anniversary of the 1993 900. And probably the 2012 cbr 600rr red and white(although it's not officially an anniversary)it is an homage to the red and white 92 or 93 600. But with all the different types of bikes on the market, anything over 10k is a waste. Especially where I live where we only get six months of ride time if we're lucky.
