NEW HOPE TECH4 V4 BRAKES VS SURRON STOCK BRAKES

In this video I finally upgrade the stock Sur Ron brakes to the new Hope Tech4 V4 brakes and put them head to head to see which brake performs best!

Great video the brake update was needed and also I’m looking at getting a Segway x260 it’s made by surron but for Segway. It is the surron x only big thing that’s different is that it connects to an app and you can change setting without doing the morse code brake thing.

Good stuff man, just got the purpple Hayes. How did you run the rear cable with the caliper already installed?

Ahh I disconnected the calliper to run the brake line through the frame of the bike. I then refilled with dot fluid👊

They’re opposite from sur-rons right? Because theyre made for mountain bikes. So if i ordered rears on amazon would it be the right handle bar for rears like reg mountain bikes?

Did you have an issue with the rotors when you installed yours which I also assume are the Hope floating rotors? I know that the front and rear wheels have different sizes with regards to how the screws mount onto the wheel if that makes sense.

No issues at all. These are just cheap £70 rotors off line. Same size as stock just fractionally thicker.

when you say the extra wire, do you mean the brake sensor wire that comes out of the stock brake lever?

The brake sensor simply just unplugs from the electrics of bike. It’s really easy. Just means you will be able to accelerate and brake at the same time. Not a bad thing. 🤘

If you had to choose between front or rear brake upgrade ONLY - what would you choose? As in do you find the need to have that additional clamping force on the rear or front?

Hey man. The discs are floating rotors from Electro MX and the handle bars are a 3" riser. Hope this helps man.

Did you change rotors And what size? I want to go to 220X2.3 mm warp 9 rotors

When feeding the new brake lines through, tape the new one to the old one and pull it through the length of the bike. Saves taking all the battery compartment apart!! 👍

Thanks man, Yea i will defiantly be trying to practice them more often. However riding with other surron owners and trying out different bikes, it seems that my throttle has a huge amount of lag due to the pedal kit being installed making it really hard to wheelie. I think im going to have to take the kit off at some point.

@@mitchelljames1452 nice man. I’d love to get new front forks. For the tyres have a look at the fortra. They are the biggest size available without rubbing on the chain. Really good price too.
