Thank you for the great video! After the set up, I had a hard time connecting my laptop back to wifi. You can go to control panel - network and internet and click "Change adapter settings" on the left hand side. Then you will see the same page when you disabled the wifi connection in the set up, there you can able wifi back. Hopefully this helps anyone who might struggle like I did!

A little hint to help others: I was not able to type into cmd prompt at all until I clicked the little black cmd icon which opened a menu, click on properties then options then check the "Legacy" box. You will now be able to type in cmd prompt. Hope that helps. I liked and subbed. Your tutorials are great and you have a wonderful manner.

If anyone is wondering why their computer doesn't work after this with the Internet you need to open up the command prompt and enter the first command and then reenable the Wi-Fi. Don't forget that part. Oops.

This is really outstanding. No nonsense. I just got a new Asus Zenbook 14x and just wanted to get into windows 11 just long enough to get the latest and greatest firmware updates if any so I could then go onto installing Fedora Jam (Fedora linux spin for multimedia). Windows 11 was doing the "make a microsoft account" nonsense which I don't want. This kind of video is very useful for Linux users that just want to get into windows enough to possibly update something. I suspect in the end it was just updating windows stuff and not the laptop firmware and/or bios so in my case it didn't matter.

None if this is necessary with the "sign in options" option at 1:03. I believe this option is only available with Windows 11 Pro and Enterprise editions. Just choose work or school account during setup, then sign in options, and the key is to click "domain join instead". I think most users see this and get scared off because they don't understand what a Windows domain is. After choosing domain join, your only option is to create a local account. I'm an MSP, Microsoft partner, Dell and Lenovo partner. I do it probably thousands of times a year.

For those of us who missed this info prior to setting up W11, isn't it just as good to go into Settings/Accounts/Your Info/ Sign In With A Local Account Instead? Create a Local Accnt, which converts your Microsoft accnt to a Local Account/ Administrator. You are required to use a password though. It seems like this is already built in to W11 and there is no need to do a work-around at set-up. Or am I missing something here? Is there something better about doing this at set-up with the trick you described? I'm kind of ignorant about this stuff

in my opinion its that , Microsoft wants everybody who use windows to be registered with Microsoft account using your email or mobile phone number! if you don't like to bypass this step than create your account using your mobile phone , click create if you don't have one! in the other hand creating account in offline mode local account its an option there but for the moment its hiden , and when you do this trick it will enable it and bring it to the front! to be sure what im talking here its this question , why they change the method to enable local accounts? they are making harder and harder to get access to windows without registration :) for me you better register and create an Microsoft account , sooner or latter you have to have it :)

I managed to get a Local Account installed using the very latest Win11 installer, but I had to use your method before the sign in screen. I had to do it on the LAN/WiFi screen where you connect to the Internet before continuing, I couldn't continue from there for some reason with no LAN or WiFi connection available. The main reason I wanted to log in using a Local Account is to install drivers manually before connecting to the Internet as Windows automatically chose incorrect drivers, which always failed because they were outdated drivers. I downloaded all the latest drivers from the manufacturers websites and installed those first before connecting to the Internet. Thanks for the workaround, and no thanks to Microsoft for not allowing a Local Account on installation, especially on the Pro version.

I just installed Windows 11 on an old unsupported HP laptop (14 years old - no UEFI, no TPM, Core Duo CPU with 4GB RAM). I used a hybrid USB stick (Windows 10 with Windows 11 install.wim file). I stayed on the wireless network during the install and when I had to enter a Microsoft account I just put in a one word account name and a password. There was an error message on the screen and I just had to re-enter my one word username and password again. I had to enter three verification questions and answers but the install proceeded as expected and I'm using a local account. Of course, I probably won't be activating but the restrictions aren't too annoying. Cheers!

Thank you for the assist. I just got a new computer. So I have a question after all of this is done. Once I reconnect to the wifi and get on the internet, let's say I want to check my hotmail email. Does this automatically undo everything I just did? Yes, I have a an MS account, but I don't like all of the automatic sharing and I don't use many of the features, but I do like being able to check emails, get updates, etc. I just don't like the automatic sharing of information. Also, i do use things like Skype, etc, so yes I do have the MS account, I just do not want it synced to anything else....basically, on the old system with Windows 10, all it seemed I had to do was just turn it on, call it something, set up the pin and fingerprint, and away I went. Looks like they removed cmd.exe shift +f10 or fn+shift+f10 doesn't do anything. However winkey+r does. Putting cmd.exe gives an error saying only runs Microsoft verified apps. Doing this for a customer and is getting very annoying when all they want is a local account.

@@Tips2Fix See if you can help further. When I activated MS office 2021, I had to log on MS account to do so. Now, the bypass is no longer work, I have to log on computer through MS a/c. I tried to redo the bypass with FN+SHIFT+F10, the prompt did not pop up anymore. Wonder if I will need to do a system recovery, then to follow your video to bypass it again. If this is the way to do so, will I need to reactivate MS office again in order to use it???? Appreciate it

I’m sure other people have wondered this but once you install windows go back to network connections and re-enable Wi-Fi or ethernet to connect to the Internet again

yes you can it's easy at your account settings you can see an option microsoft account to login it make sense to be easy , because they want you to create an account.

Test it , in my case i was not able to go to limited setup even no internet connecting Than i decidet to do this video

Thank you, good tutorial. but at this time it didn't work for me, I just tried to follow these steps and activate a brandnew thinkpad with Windows 11 Pro. guess what? that "i don't have internet" option is no longer there..... so without connecting to a wifi network no way to proceed.

Did you test it on Windows 11 Pro? I am still struggling as I don not have a Microsoft business account (i am on the Microsoft 365 Family) for the there is no option to use the computer. they are forcing you to pay more and upgrade to Microsoft 365 Business, Unbelievable @@ivanlimzg

Today I had Microsoft customer support to access remotely and have a look and he spent about an hour trying to understand what had gone wrong. at the end I was asked to re install windows 11 and try. so, I did a system reset (complete) and installed windows 11 pro again from cloud and then tried without connecting to the internet and it worked. the option for "continue with limited" was available. :) Conclusion, the OS pre loaded by lenovo had some issues. according to the microsoft person, user accounts part may have been corrupted. @@Tips2Fix
