I've driven Jaguars from being 23. My first was a 1968 420G, bought second-hand from an elderly retired solicitor. Immaculate condition and I paid modest money for it as the car was deemed 'old fashioned'. I was duly howled at by my peers for driving a 'battleship'. Thus began my lifelong relationship with Jags. I loved them from then and I've driven then from then. Some better than others - admittedly - the secret I found is...buy new...service as advised...keep within it's guarantee...then sell/trade in. I like them....they have 'presence'....

Im looking to buy the Jaguar XJl 2021. Not only is this gorgeous but gives me a range of over 500 miles which is far greater than what any EV can offer. Fueling times is 7 minutes or less and that includes running in and grabbing a coffee. A great over the road car which gives you the ability to keep moving. Yeah you can keep the EV.

We have an older model. It’s a two pack black with a stunning purple in the sunlight, and light interior. My husband wanted to sell it and get a Tesla and I said no way. It’s the most beautiful car and recommend this car to anyone. I personally don’t think it’s as stunning in white with that dark orange tan interior.

I must say I really like this jaguar probably because the body and chassis is all aluminium which can have advantages and I think jaguar being a special brand have been more bold on the design of this model and should not be frightened to do with there other models also.

They may well have stopped producing the XJ but folks please use your brains he is talking about the car you are looking at its an XJ. I have driven XJs for nearly 30 years and a couple of years ago I sold my XJ because parts are no longer available and bought an XF jag, the worst decision I have made in my car buying life. The XF has no jaguar genes at all and it's the first Jag I have had trouble with one was life-threatening when the bloody thing got stuck in a low gear when I put my foot down. I was locked in at 92ks per hour I couldn't change gear I couldn't turn the engine off unless I could stop the car someone was going to die. Fortunately, this was as I entered a motorway and in the end, I did manage to stall the bugger but braking as hard as I could and the engine stalled. When I tried to start it the damn thing wouldn't start for many attempts and when I did get it going it would only run in reverse. After several restarts, I managed to drive away.. This it turned out was due to the battery being a bit low and not enough power to drive all the computing. No indication came up that the battery was low. This model jag is a heap of shit.

They were due to bring out a new electric platform late last year. Then the new management decided it wants all Jaguars on one single special platform and scrapped the new XJ. There is currently no replacement and sales of the XJ seen above were low anyway so Jaguar don't see it as a priority. Sadly the new boss is a complete idiot and is going to take Jaguar to the wall as all he's interested in is electric 4x4 instead of proper sports cars.

Former owner, Lease it, don’t buy it. It’s not reliable or sturdy at all. Roll over a bump good enough and you’ll break a tire axel. So many more parts will break that don’t break on other cars.

Might as well start buying the entire coolant plastic tubing that's all around the motor. You will be replacing it around 60k miles. It all splits and cracks from the coolant heat. Owned 2 XF's and 2 XJ's. All did the same thing.

Not a car I ever took much notice of - a forgettable design. Unlike the old XJ's which was always a treat for the eyes and ears. I did own a 1975 Dailmer Soverign 4.2 for a few years - it was the Daimler version of the XJ - now that was a CAR.

I had the sovereign 1992. Didn't start off as my favorite but possibly ended as one. Also 204 XJ 8 ... Also quite a respectable car much more engine than the older ones. I'm sure this one drives beautifully and feels great but to the eyes has no resemblance of a Jaguar to me.... 208 range before body change was the last Jag!

@@karlanthony2179 You can argue they are not obsolete since they have EV. Ipace is EV but look at the spec + pricing. I call it, yes it's electric, beautiful and excellent fit/finish. Not every EV has good design and some guy called Munro tears down cars and show you everything down to the motor, how it is built. Who is in front of the game. Let's see if the legacy luxury brands are still around a few years later.

Their original plan was to electrify this car 10 years ago, there were definitely prototypes made. A big problem you have with something like this is the body noise when the engine is taken away, creaks, squeaks and rattles that you wouldn't hear before suddenly appear.. Every part you put in the interior has the potential to make a noise not just when the vehicle is moving, like cornering but also when temperatures change. All that chrome covered plastic looks nice but it will create all the undesirable noises.

Not available in Canada anymore. We just have the XF and a bunch of SUVs. Luxury cars aren't luxury cars anymore. They're sports cars with leather seats. We need to bring back real luxury cars and a modern version of the crushed velour that we saw in the 80s and early 90s. I much prefer the older XJ body style, but considering the competition, at least this and the Genesis look like luxury cars and not a sports car or an econobox with leather seats.

Je regretterai toujours la ligne de ma vieille Daimler gris Dorchester et XJ, pas leurs pannes! Je l’ai gardé vingt ans et fait 260000kms avec ( en tournant sur trois voitures) J’irai peut être voir cette dernière qui trouve un plus grâce à mes yeux . Mais elle semble encombrante pour le vieux que je deviens et.....sans chauffeur
