I don't know if it matters to anyone but me but I use the shorter shaft for these tools and nest the sockets to allow me to carry more flip sockets on a shorter shaft. I do this to keep the handle from sticking out further then the rest when in my tool bag. You can significantly shorten the stack size of the flip sockets if you "nest" one larger size end with one that fits inside the other one. Just my 2c

I think that tidbit of info is worth much more than two cents. Thanks! And thanks for watching!

Hey Doc, I call it an EDC screwdriver because it’s a little long to be considered a stubby. It’s got enough extension, like your snap-on, to operate like a ball grip or full size screwdriver. A maintenance tech could carry it along with a folding utility knife all the time. I really think Klein should be marketing it as a pocket or EDC screwdriver. Thanks for mentioning the channel! 👍

I bought the ratcheting stubby after Project Pine Hill’s video as well. I really like it a lot! Klein keeps bringing out winners.

Thanks for the video!! Also thank you for plugging Project Pine Hills because I love his channel also. It’s always nice to find someone who has the same expectations and desires out of Professional grade tools… PPH is how I was led here to your page. I’m a new sub of yours. Keep the awesome tool reviews and the good vibes circulating sir!! Great Video

That Hawk bill knife is quite possibly the best utility knife design there is. It won't take the place of a replacement blade knife if you are needing that edge but for general use the design is extremely useful.

Hello again, Doc Thank you for another Great Video 👍 I have recently been looking at the Klein Tools. I haven't pulled the trigger yet. Thank you for the review insight. 😊

I love the Klein stuff, my only issue is that it starts getting really confusing when everything is multi-use, reversible, has multiple adapter systems, has over-lapping color coding, and is sold in many different configurations with similar components.

Great set to own however be careful with your application. I had my 7-in-1 for two days and shattered the 1/2” removing a bolt with a Milwaukee M12 impact. I am not faulting the tool. The socket ended up getting a little cocked off center and it shattered. It’s a thin wall socket so you have to be aware of how you are using it. I am in the process of seeing if Klein will warranty the tool.

A great video, I just picked up the hybrid 16 in 1 from Lowes last night. Klein is really on it. I have seen the Klein impact driver on Amazon. It comes with a Dewalt battery. I will just grab me a Metabo impact ecosystem part. Oh yeahhh.

Thanks for the video! Oops, Top link is to Milwaukee knife, not Klein tools. Yay for the hawkbill knife opening packages - we need a multi-tool option for that. Klein already has new funny extensions for pass-through stuff, maybe they have one in the works with a star end to put more torque on that big SAE socket?

I find that I never use the stacking sockets because I dread having to restack them. They look like a cool idea, until you use them.

I’m not certain what it is, but something about the nested, multi flip sockets do not appeal to me. The hawk bill knifes are fantastic. Thx for another great video Doc.

Hey Doc, You should check out Klein’s 33804 new ratcheting T-handle in the KNECT series. We both agree that the new ratcheting T-handle from PB Swiss may be the best out there but this new Klein one may just top it.The way the bits lock and unlock from the T-handle is better than that of the PB Swiss. Also the back drag is far less. The PB has less play in the lock position and i would say the feel is a toss up which I can’t believe I’m saying because to me PB Swiss has the best grip material known to man!

Yes I've seen the Klein impacts. They're basically exact copy's of DeWalt tools but orange colored and obviously take same DeWalt batteries. They have several impacts many designed for lineman etc with 7\16 chucks, but also have 1\4, 3\8 & 1\2 chucks\anvils, too iirc. DeWalt batteries actually power a lot of tool lines - Kraco paint sprayers, Mac tools, ESAB cordless welder, Klein, & probably forgetting some. Funny enough I just watched that project bills video yesterday about these Klein tools. I like where this connect system is going. Seems well thought out & not crazy expensive either. I love Klein multi tools especially that stubby one, I have the long & stubby ¼\5/16 nut multi drivers too. Now you have wanting to go buy these connect system boxes. I'm seriously considering the double sided impact socket sets just to have ease of carrying around for small project stuff. 👍🏻👌🏻🛠️🔧🔩⚡🦺 ✊🏻🇺🇲🦅🇺🇲✊🏻

What’s wild, is I was just looking at the Malco version today, and the reviews said Malco copied Klein. Malco is amazing quality vs Klein. I have the flip socket sets and not my favorite.

I’m amused by the color coding on these products. Unless I’m driving nuts with these things all day, every day, I’m never gonna remember which color is which size. But I’ll also admit that I’m a sucker a colorful tool, and I’ll buy the colorful tool over the monochrome tool every time!

Softer/tougher/less brittle steel so that when you put it in an impact driver it doesn't shatter.

It really angers me I can't buy the 3/4 flip socket stand alone. I own the the metric and standard 3 pc sets. I really don't want to spend 40 for 3 sockets I have and the 3/4. I wouldn't mind paying 10 12 bucks for the one socket. I would also like a shaft that just holds one of the flip sockets. The flip sockets are great but a more user friendly set up in a small box would be nice to keep with my carry bag impact driver.

Yeah, the knect stuff is a gimmick in my mind. I'll stick with my 1/4hex, 1/4 square, 3/8 square etc confections. It's a solution in search of a problem.
