Hi! Thanks a lot for all the great videos. We are very close to also order a Lagoon 46, delivery spring 2022. I know you have a plan for your solar panels. It would be very interesting to hear more about this, how much do you need? Were will you put them? How many batteries are you planing to have?

Hi Joel. Thanks for your note. We will put about 1000W of solar and it will be located at a stainless steal rack that we will have made at the aft ( it will serve double purpose / hold the panels and to also protect the table from the sun sometimes. In terms of the batteries I will not do anything with them now. I will use the gel batteries from factory and once it starts to get old after 24 months I will be upgrading to lithium. We have just purchased a Camper Van with lithium batteries and I am so impressed with it. I can even run my AC for 7 hours on it ( not to say I will do the same on the boat of course. And congratulations on the new boat. We will definitely have to meet up on the water. All the best. Ed

I am curious if any of the available options for autopilot you have seen have the option of automatic avoidance collision with another vessel.

Hi EK. This option can be set on the B&G Chartploter. I usually I set an alarm for any vessel the gets inside of my comfort zone of distance and then I manually adjust the course on autopilot if engaged. It works well for us and gives us the piece of mind in case we miss something.

I believe after all is said and done in terms of options from factory and safety equipment plus solar panels it will be right around 800k.

@@bitcoin4life our boat will be registered at BVI and as we will sail around the world and will not be staying in Europe for longer that the allowable time no VAT will be needed. All the best Ed

@@bitcoin4life it would definitely be a little more work. I would not rule out talking to a specialist, maybe having the boat under a company name in BVI or other flag that gives you that benefit if you are planning to get out ou the UC and return. Now, It in inconvincente if you’re are based in Europe and have a limited time to stay there with the boat. Always good to explore options and of course doing what is right in order to avoid any penalties. All the best. Ed

Actually more than 700k and yes we have a Patreon for people that appreciate the work we do on the videos. It helps subside a portion of the costs with production.
