This Video is about how my Jet 1440 - JWl woodworking lathe broke and I had to upgrade to the Laguna Revo 18/36.
I'll Show the initial Unboxing of my new lathe, a quick assembly, and give a brief overview of the components and accessories included. I also share my first impression and review the lathe.

Excellent video. I just bought a Laguna 1216. I turn sitting in my wheelchair. I am building my own stand. I am probably one of the worst turners on the planet. The open underside of your 1836 is wide and open. I like that. You bought a sweet machine. I will be looking forward to your stuff. Well Done!

Your helper that joined at the 5:50 point was the highlight of the video. Curiosity question...why on earth did you load that monster up on top of your truck vs in the bed of it where the center of gravity seem like it would have ridden so much better and safer. Love the lathe, and we're almost certain that is the one we are going to be purchasing in the near future.

SO happy for you man! The Laguna is on my list of lathes that I am considering. I currently use a little Jet 1221VS. It's a great little machine and I love the low RPMs as you said about yours. Can't wait to hear your thoughts after a few turnings. Congrats.....

The laguna is a beautiful machine. I like the nova because it does not have a DVR (that white box that regulates the machine, that’s what burnt up on mine) and no belts to change ( why I gave up on my jet lath). The nova checked those boxes for me. I’ve owned the nova for a year now and all I’ve done is plug it in.

When you turn the lathe on with the dial all the way down slow and hit the green button, does the spindle start turning ? Do you have to hit the red button in order for the lathe to stop or can you turn all the way low and it stops? Thanks. I like your video.

How heavy is the heaviest piece?... I need to take it down stairs to the basement , if it’s too heavy I may go for the 1524 with very adjustable legs. I am short so I need that lol.

not into dudes Stelios glad we can have fun with this all kidding aside i have owned this machine for 2 years and have turned every thing from small finials to large bowls its a great lathe for the money and very expandable. Vince Chacon I got it at a place called Eagle tools. I don’t recommend shopping there. Both the lathe I got broke from this guy. Watch my laguna 18/36 catching fire video. I’ll put a link in the description for you.
