So there is a big discussion about what a legends game is. People say it’s the gameplay, others say it’s the time period. What if it’s just the fact that you are a previous player character getting pulled from after their game. I think this is the formula because what happens to your character after the games? Most disappear and fade into legend! For example the player character from kalos defeats Lysander in his timeline. After the main story they get pulled by argues to go help another timeline that Lysander wasn’t defeated. This game is now in the “future” because the world was sent back to the Stone Age and you were sent to rebuild civilization. And eventually through the campaign you meet Lysander and defeat him.

Soul's distaste for the Kalos Starters getting Megas confuses the hell out of me tbh. This is the chance to finally give them access to the gimmick THEIR GENERATION INTRODUCED!!!!!!!!!! They already have a fantastical world where they have futureistic qualities like worm whole devices time machines teleporters and stuff. And the future paradox pokemon. They dont have very much creativity for a far future game. And looking at places like black city theres not much they could do other then cyberpunk stuff. Past gives them much more creative freedom to flesh out story and past lore

We will look back on SV as the point where Pokémon storytelling grew up in a significant manner. So many different threads, so much backstory, heartache, the lot. SV might have disappointed for graphics and overall playability, but the storylines were exceptional and frankly area zero is peak Pokemon. The DLCs were excellent, overall, with some really intriguing stuff going on with the whole Kitakami trio and Pecharunt. Just one man’s opinion, but I have played every gen and every main line game.

I am currently playing through Emerald SeaGlass. It is an Emerald romhack, incorporating the 2nd gen graphics for the overworld and battle sprites, battle backgrounds, modern mechanics (somewhere in between 7th-9th gen), pokémon from up to 9th gen, added events, and extensive options. They also added types to pokémon, even some who I have only heard y'all mention needs these extra types (water/steel for Blastoise, grass/fairy for Meganium, flying/ground for Doduo line, electric/fighting for Electivire, water/normal for Politoad, ect!!) I continue to be surprised by this game. It really has been awesome and such a nostalgia kick, like it was made for the fans. You were the first person who I thought of in playing this.. lol

Theory: in Z-A Zeraora and Rayquaza will threaten the ecosystem of Kalos, Zygarde will intervene but will be required to mega to defeat them. Possibly two alternative mega version to deal specifically with them, like they had in mind for Pokémon Z (accoring to teraleak content, wolf to chase down Xerneas and cannons to take down Yveltal)

The pain from the eyes of a long time fan is while we do appreciate GameFreak trying and doing new things we desperately want them to smooth out the things and better refine them rather than throw out concepts and ideas every generation as they have been. We want the *chef kiss* put into one game rather than cool concepts spread throughout ten. But thanks GF’s logic they want past regions to have their “uniqueness” but that’s at the cost of us having a better final product. The way other franchises evolve while still retaining their changes like Monster Hunter as an example. The newest one coming out has all the best features of the last three games that had their own spins almost exactly like PLA compared to SV. We want something that has the best of both worlds.

A wild take here, but I think legends was set up to purposely introduce the concepts of past and future to align with Gen 9. Given this I believe ZA will be a direct sequel to the franchise and that will be it. The A might reference the concept of bringing it back to Arceus story in some way, creating a time loop / paradox, which is the main theme of SV. Given the focus on Gen 4 and 6 to tell this story, the in between is Gen 5 which will be next for a legit remake, but I’d be surprised if Legends continues after this. They’ll probably go with a whole different idea once Gen 10 is introduced.

As a vgc player I agree, we want this to be easier for the casual audience or new players who might want to try vgc after their experience. To grow the game that way if they are interested. I also agree megas will be the only new thing, my only thing is they mega into a “new form” and type changes. They can’t make new megas and new region forms, too many designs imo. I’ll wait till we get footage but sounds kinda meh to miss, but I won’t because it’s Pokemon.

Legends Arceus is a wonderful game - what makes it stand out is that is made for gamers. One can easily feel the inspiration from JRPGs - even more so with the feeling of the game and how hard the final boss was with different stages. If you only like the original PKMN formula, I can understand the expectation throws off those players - but I feel they clearly see that gameplay - or at least they tested the waters - as the future of the franchise and any gamer appreciates the high quality of that game. SV is nowhere near as polished as PLA ( not saying PLA was perfect ) and you can clearly see the love for Pokémon from the Devs on PLA, for sure. The art, music and the animation of moves… SV feels like it felt victim of the developers desires to go full open world. Riding / catching overworld and surely more stuff to come IMO is what they see this gameplay as their core moving forward, but without leaving the battle aspect, of course, which we all love to see it get better and better

I think legends games are about the “legend” happening. If the world still feels interactive, you can bring your entire team out, there’s new forms of existing Pokemon and you’re really immersed into the world than I’m down for it. I don’t really like Kalos and it’s Pokémon though ☹️ I hope it’s a mix of new forms and a few new megas. I’d prefer more new forms

The sales numbers of sv and swsh are only so high because I think they used lgpe to get a lot of kanto fans back on the switch and then used bdsp and legends arceus to get a lot of sinnoh fans back on the switch. I think the switch games sales numbers are so high only because it’s actually a lot of the older players buying them and we are starting to get annoyed. I’m sure there are still kids that buy it too, but I bet you the percentage is way less than what it used to be. and if you look at the most popular games for kids nowadays, Pokémon definitely isn’t one of them. its like roblox and minecraft and fortnite or warzone. also to me legends arceus was overall a great game only because of the plot and ability to die and get attacked. It was way too tedious and annoying with the research tasks. What they need to do is introduce action style battling without taking away turn based by using something like the synchro machine to switch between and stop making their games so tedious. allow us to just generate any stat ability or move that we want without them being hacked.

I feel like the idea of concern is too much. It's the kind of attitude that naturally happens when you don't have enough information about something big. It is suspicious to not hear anything other than Mega Pokemon. Although honestly, it's really unbelievable that a near finished copy of the game has been around in the public and there has been no spoilers from that. It honestly makes me think it's not as complete as described. There is a contradiction in having Mega Pokemon in a Legends game because Mega Pokemon were designed for the multiplayer Meta, and Legends is designed more around the single player experience. What we know is that it's supposed to be about restoring the city, but it can't obviously be Pokemon X2, Y2 because of that. There are no badges meanted, no plot to be the champion, and honestly no plot to the kalos war in any of the hints that we know of so far. The likelihood that it plays like XY is very tiny. I think only new Mega pokemon would be a pretty big disappointment, but there are lots of ways where it can be interesting. I look at Scarlet and Violet and how this game would be included in generation 9, and I think they can easily surprised us with these paradox pokemon. For example, maybe we get Mega designs that look like they are from the far past or the far future, and a lot of old Megas get reclassified between those. Maybe what attacks the city could be a Paradox legendary Pokemon that is successful at beating Zygarde, leaving you to look for the cells. This pokemon could transform pokemon to be under their control, as well as people, letting those you've met in XY need to be rescued and eventually become a part of your resistance force. There are a lot of possibilities for this game simply because we don't really know much about the games. We feel like we do, but it's an over confidence from leaks, Nintendo can very well cancel or delay the game indefinitely.

how easy do vgc players want to get teams? You can literally type a code in and use any team u desire online…. If your crafting one yourself it takes no longer than a few hours which makes sense because pokemon is all about training up your pokemon, if you could just spawn in a pokemon that has max ivs and evs at level 100 it would deminish every other pokemon

I just hope it a fun vibrant game with over 100 new pokemon from that generation with great battles and true legendarys that is uncatchable. Yup, we have a 12 y/o kid here who can’t handle 1. Different opinions and 2. Objective facts that the art style and performance of the games are just trash, and calls everyone hAtErS lmao. You don’t benefit in any way trying to simp for GF. Vice versa, you are only harming yourself; by doing that, you tell GF that they don’t need to do better and they continue doing shit quality games. When people demand better, that’s when things get better. Imagine SCVI but no Performance issues, even more polished graphics, no unnecessary gliches. Would be very good🤌🏾 and they could do it, they just don’t care because people liku you who eat whatever shit they give to your plate. Smh

Idk about regional forms cause it’s set in the near future/present so I understand soul being anxious about this game. I too really don’t care about megas as there have been way better gimmicks since then lmao.
