Thanks for the reupload, I can tell it's a pain. And not to sound like a jerk but, really think the game industry is too strict on game developers and doesn't give them full freedom of anything without someone breathing above their necks. I once wanted to become a game creator but from what I've heard (Not just from this video), game devs are treated as servants to the gaming big wigs, which is not what I wanted to work for.

I don't know who'll read this particular comment, but I've seen some comments speculate that the original dev in the video would get in trouble for his comments on Miyamoto. I don't think this is the case at all! Miyamoto has been very much associated with the phrase "upending the tea table". You can even find a whole page about it on the Zelda Dungeon Wiki, which has been up for 2014 according to the google search. The phrase itself comes from a 2004 GDC talk by Eiji Aonuma. The real reason is the original dev probably just changed his mind tbh

So for those wondering what the difference between the old and new video, I have saved the first video and watched these 2 side by side. Here's all the changes. Old video lasts 19.49 new video 19.08 Old video's first 10 seconds has a promo for did you know gaming trivia based card game, new video cuts this. At 0.51 (new video time) the new video image is blurred out, in the old video the image isn't and shows LM2 artist Janothan Yao (that is how his name is spelt in the video on screen) 2.34 new video shows clear picture of luigi with the writing on screen "those big brained Ghosts sure put up a fight" in the old video, this is still there but entirely blurred out... funny that, the new video is uncensored here over the old video... why is it blurred ....no idea. 11.31 new video time = the old video shows janothan yao talking about why the final boss was cut because it wasn't fun enough, was reworked and put back into the game) he mentions metaphorical "table flip" situations where if miyamoto doesn't like an idea he would tell the developers to effectively scrap the whole thing and start over (like flipping over a table). The new video cuts this section completely. 11.59 new video time = (janothan yao) is on screen in the old video talking about miyamoto being there during the riots. This video is replaced in the new video with footage of the riots with DYKG quoting him instead as anonymous. That's all the changes.

Either Im really tired and replied elsewhere or my comment disappeared. But it was unblurred for the uploads first 5 hours and was blurred using KZbins editing tool upon learning the image of Luigi as a detective was AI. Both Dr Lava, a writer for DYKG and the main DYKG page acknowledged this on twitter. Genuine mistake, they obviously edited it out of the reupload.

It may be they were just in pre-production: writing up design documents, coming up with ideas, not really doing any big coding etc. Although it could also be they were doing early prototypes for known technology (the DS at the time), making a very crude and simple game just to test out ideas, instead of making something super-polished.

I’d like to bring up this idea I had for a Luigi’s Mansion sequel . Idea would be that Luigi would enter E. Gadd’s computer to get rid of the ghosts haunting it and would enter legally distinct versions of mascot horror titles like Five Nights at Freddy’s, Poppy Playtime, and Hello Neighbor before going into a DanganRonpa spoof, and then entering legally distinct versions of games like Mario 85’ and many Mario Creepypastas. Except all the games he enters have been taken over by King Boo and twisted around. Like the DanganRonpa spoof has the students become sentient instead of just characters in a game and are dealing with an existential crisis. The mascot horror parodies could have said mascot monsters be slain by King Boo and Luigi has to travel through the ruins of said game. The creepypasta games idea could have a legally distinct parody of MX be turned into a puppet for King Boo to use and ironically the blood and guts are all cleaned away.

I didn't like Luigi's Mansion 2 and 3. The ghosts are boring and feel samey. I feel the first game had way more variety in normal ghosts. 3 was definitely better than 2, but 1 is just a landslide better game imo. In 3 there was long stretches with no ghosts at all even, which was really dumb.
