Thanks so much for these swatches. I haven't seen many other youtube videos on the reformulation for some reason 🤔This was really interesting though! Other shades like myth, creme d nude, blankety and creme cup have become markedly warmer 😵‍💫

I had heard about Blankety and Crème Cup… 😳 I didn’t realise it was the same for Myth too, this makes me sad 😞 It makes you wonder why they’d alter such iconic shades, especially given their popularity?! I have always used Mac Modesty and actually wished it was a bit cooler in undertone. I have a light skin tone so I am thrilled about the change in Modesty and so happy to hear you like the formula. I am definitely going to order a new Modesty 😊 Thanks for the review 😊

Excellent help! Thanks so much. Always annoying when they change the shades. 😤 My undertone is cool-neutral and judging by the daylight pictures I'd say Brave is now a tiny bit more vibrant and actually warmer. The old one looks more greyish and mauvy.

It’s so interesting that the shades were altered. I think the formulas were due for an update but I wonder if MAC thought the shades also needed to be updated, or if they couldn’t replicate them in the new formula (ingredients and pigments didn’t work together). Really appreciate your very thorough review, Carmel!

Thank you for the video on Mac lipsticks reformulation. I love these lipsticks and I am concerned about the changes because many of the most iconic colors have been discontinued (Freckletone, Fleshpot, Plumful, etc.), and those reformulated are not the same color as the original (Russian Red, Velvet Teddy, Heroine, etc). Besides, my favourite were the Amplified which apparently has been removed along with cremesheen or merged to sheer satin. I think I'm disappointed because I feel it as a change of an era. Probably I will find other colors to love, but it takes time (even because I think there are less shades compared to before. I'm relief though that at least the formula has improved.

I do splurge on a Mac lipstick occasionally. Wasn't aware you could buy a mini. Definitely agree that the formula gives a more polished finished (and by your testament feel) to the lips, but definitely pulls cooler. Shame they've sacrifced the colour tone for texture and formulation. Thanks as always for your thorough testing and honest review. I’m wondering why I didn’t mention anything about longevity 🤔🙃 They last just as well as any other satin lipstick really & great until you eat or drink! I do think the performance is better than the previous formula though and is definitely superior (in my opinion!) I think some people will be gutted by the changes, but think we were all expecting it after the mattes fell victim! 😂 Thanks for being here, my beautiful friend 💕 xx

Oh Carmel...so sad! I'm also a medium olive, but I must be more yellow-toned than you. I couldn't pull off the new undertones, and the with more of a gray tone would be a disaster 😂! I'm so glad I still have my favorites! (Sorry I'm late again, my health is awful recently...😢)

I went to swatch a lot of the nude shades that weren’t super white based as a lot of them were pulling quite mauve which I dislike I ended up walking out with a lustre and a macximal matte instead.

Hi lovely, on a side note, your snail skincare is on offer on Amazon less than half price xx Ooh a big change in those shades, the undertones are so off BUT the new formula looks so pretty on. I was never a MAC lipstick lover because they were so drying on me or too creamy but not in a comfortable way...so the new formula might be better for me 😊
