Great ideas as always. I look forward to seeing the actual play. One semantic thing I thought that the magic gate spell would open a portal to either move or bring it creatures from other locations. I'd use a name like Hold or Magic Cage or something to emphasize that this spell keeps them from moving. A nice option for that spell I think would be for the wizard to spend their action and spell points to just maintain the hold in the next round if it hasn't been dispelled. How do these rules interact with the standard martial type rules? Most of those figures had only a d6 for hit points. Since those figures can't dispel magic would they be trapped forever by the gate/cage? I like that in desperation the wizards can burn their health to power their spells. I think it would be good to have ways for them to recharge lost points, either from special arcane points in the terrain or taking an action to draw in power instead of moving and attacking. With a 25% chance of failure do you run the risk that one of your wizards could quickly lose their points assuming they have to spend the points for their spell before the failure roll? Maybe do the failure roll first and just lose a single point? Just spitballing here not having tried to play test it yet. Thanks again for the great content!

Suggestion for Magic Storm: • Roll D10 only. • On a 7 to 10, the Magic Storm lands exactly on the Target. • If Rolling 1 to 6, the Magic Storm falls in the direction pointed by the D10 and the distance is the Rolled Value. I'm looking forward to seeing the match, congratulations.

I am thinking about changing the name “Magical Gate” to “Magical Tether” in order to better reflect the spell’s function. What do you think?😊

One other suggestion: Consider the Mage with 3 Life Points and 10 Mana Points. When Life Points run out or are not enough, you can convert your Life into Mana. 1 Health Point restores 3 Mana Points. Leaving the Mage Weaker and at the same time restoring his magical abilities.

Excellent suggestion! There is definitely a lot to play around with regarding the life/magic balance. I also just thought of using one set of points for both. I do, however, love the idea of sacrificing life for more magic!! 😊👍
