My biggest concern is repairs and spare parts from these startup companies
@mitchdoescoffee4 ай бұрын
Yes, that is a very common thought process... To be fair, try searching for parts for some of the most common machines & you will have similar issues. I will be diving deeper into the machine to see what parts are used inside.

@imreallysureovereigh4 ай бұрын
Definitely something different! I love the idea with the dual boiler and pid combined with a more futuristic look and control. I always missed this on regular machines like ecm or lelit. The problems I personally have is the miss on automatic beverages like selecting americano and getting both, water and coffee with one click. I also prefer the volumetric measuring output of breville machines rather than having a scale built in. Also not quite a fan of the plastic (not shiny) Design. But the dual boiler is big! Still undecided what to go with. But great Video!!
@mitchdoescoffee4 ай бұрын
It's all about balance really... the breville machines are absolutely focussed on convenience, but they sacrifice quality to achieve this. The breville "volumetrics" are so far from a consistent output... true gravimetrics like this are far superior, it will stop the shot with enough time to allow gravity to flow & achieve the goal weight. Having the Timed method will give you a different coffee each time.

Mitch, what make / model scales are you using? How do they fair with a vibrating pump? Thanks Andy
@mitchdoescoffee3 ай бұрын
Hi mate. These scales are built in to this machine & it uses a rotary pump. 😎
@andygraham61973 ай бұрын
On your video you used your own scales to compare the accuracy of the built in scales - hence my question
@mitchdoescoffee3 ай бұрын
@@andygraham6197 ah. Sorry, I completely forgot about that 😅 They are the Brewista smart scales. And they have been brilliant... I have used them with a vibration pump machine previously & they performed flawlessly. The battery life is also ridiculously long
@Luckyme-kq3sq4 ай бұрын
Do you know if you can tare the weight so long black drinkers can add their water prior to pouring the coffee?
@mitchdoescoffee4 ай бұрын
Yes, you can simply pop over to the scale feature in the main screen & weigh your water also. Once you go into the extraction mode, the scale will be zero again.
@Luckyme-kq3sq3 ай бұрын
Many thanks for your reply, Mitch. Another question, I am an Aussie backer and we are now at the stage of deciding colour and shipping method. Did you get your machine air freighted to you or by sea shipping and if by air, was it delayed in customs for any length of time? Meraki is saying we should choose the sea shipping method over the air freight method (we pay for the shipping either way) as the air freight seems to get held up in customs - this may happen in other countries but wanted to know your experience please if possible. Many thanks again for your assistance.
@mitchdoescoffee3 ай бұрын
@Luckyme-kq3sq mine was sent via air quickly, but because it was an individual unit, it would have squeezed through alot quicker than a container will. I'd recommend via boat as it is much less likely to have issues in handling (broken etc)
