I'd previously been getting the media creation tool error message but this worked for me thanks.. I ended up doing the window's 7 update using method 2 after method 1 gave me errors so I'd recommend just going straight to method 2. Installing windows 10 took best part of an hour so patience is needed. After a short time Microsoft pushed a Windows 10 update on me which crashed my laptop so I've ended up going into services and stopping updates til I learn more.

Hi Bro, Yes you can upgrade your Cracked Windows 7 to Windows 10 without losing data and software. For my experience- Windows 7 is the Best OS But if you want to upgrade to Windows 10 make sure you have at least 4GB RAM, i5 and SSD for better performance

Followed your instruction to the letter and very think went OK. But a problem occurred about 30% into the computer update, I received the message " 0xc1900101-0x30018 SYSPREP-SPECIALIZE. After which the update stopped loading Windows-10 and the computer was returned to is old Widow-7 configuration. Thank for the help, your straightforward video was the very best of all the other videos, that I had consulted. But I still don't the Window-10 up-grade.

In the end the Dell instruction on their Win 10 install disk that warned, "make sure to update to UEFI mode" before installing Win 10 probably caused me the most time and anxiety. I THOUGHT IT WAS A REQUIREMENT rather than a "it would be nice". So I researched the snot out of that because anything that changes the bootup has for me the specter of bricking the system. I have visions of the boot rom being diddles & that is not the sort of thing that makes me sleep well. FINALLY I found out that Legacy boot (not UEFI) runs on both Win 7 & 10 no problem. Apparently it is REQUIRED for Win 11 which will be shoved down our throats in 2025. Far as I can figure UEFI allows fancy boot options that I really do not care about. Full point & click interface for the BIOS (I think) & 2 TB boot disk access (or something). I really don't care Once that fear was put to bed it was a matter of doing multiple backups so I don't lose data. Those 6 TB external drives come in handy although I NEVER want to actually need it. I did backups with both EaseUS & Acronis AND a raw files backup. I am always leery about the recovery stage because the Acronis Recovery CD that I bought years ago did not seem to work and the jury is out on EaseUS but appears that it will actually boot and help me do a recovery. For the actual details of the process I found this video to be the most helpful in the end BECAUSE IT HAD SOLUTIONS FOR 3 common ERRORS you can expect to see, one of which I encountered (the TLS registry error that required the Easy Fix program. Had I not had that I am sure I would have spent days / weeks trying to remedy it. Once I actually got to the point of running the media creation tool it took about 14+ hours to complete. I made sure to TURN OFF sleep and hibernate & shut down my Avast Virus detector. Once upon a time I was flashing the rom to update the BIOS and Kapersky anti-virus broke in and aborted it TOTALLY BRICKING a brand new laptop. I was doing my due-diligence of getting all the Dell recommended updates before starting to use the shiny laptop and of course got the required punishment Big Thumbs up for this video. I almost can recite it by memory. It got me through the process (after I had my backups) and it went seamlessly

I finally got the windows 10 pro update but it would not show the list of wifi names to choose from in order to connect to the internet. Even the network connections folder was completely empty!!!
