Thanks for another great video, don't you just love our motorways :) Cold weather is definitely the enemy of an ev, I drove my MG5 LR up to Staffordshire northbound directly into Storm Arwen only 1or 2°c with sleet and rain and it really hammered my range. I expected a 20% loss of range but ended up 30% loss but it was exceptional circumstances. The good thing is that the gom adjusts accordingly so you do get a real world range displayed.

In the last video when charging you had to use your phone to authenticate the charger to stop charging I'm looking at getting a zs long range but what worrys me is what if something happens to your phone eg gets broken to the point its un usable you loose it or it's stolen? Can you just physically unplug the charger without authenticating or will that do damage? 🤔
@PlanetautoUK2 жыл бұрын
No worries Bob - you don’t need the app to charge and unplug. You can turn charging on and off through the infotainment screen as well as the charging unit itself (I.e. instavolt) if you are charging at home, unplugging the charger will automatically stop the charger and release the charging cable too, so tgeee is no worry about getting stuck. As soon as the power stops flowing you can disconnect. It takes a few seconds, but we have tested all ways repeatedly, and this is how it worked for us. *A

great review, an EV that gives me the range (with a touch to spare) to get me t my parents without stopping... is the sat nav you used there (with he butch voice) in-built or is it from Apple CarPlay/Android Auto? also, infrastructure, thats the one thing that is putting me off... how reliable is the infrastructure, do you have an idiots guide to all the different charging companies?? could charge at a local pub (to parents) but would seem to cost ~£25 for a full charge (77kw @ 40p/kw)... is that about right?
