As a long time infect pilot, I am really liking BG right now because it lets us play phrexian crusader. Solitude and fury are an issue for the deck, but a threat with protection from white and red is almost perfectly situated to match up against those decks. Since rot-priest came out I have had very positive experiences with the deck and would highly recommend you take it for a spin! Also, always run 4 scale up, it's the best pump spell in the deck.

I used to hate losing to infect in modern and commander when I was young but now with how busted everything else is in all portions in the game it now feels like the great equalizer. Like an old man dusting off their old oily boxing gloves to show these newcomers how it’s really done.

Yeah Tron auto-loses vs. Infect unless they have Pyroclasm on turn 2 followed by something like Karn or Platinum Angel on turn 3. This generally means mulligan until you find red mana + Pyroclasm and _even then_ it doesn't stop Mutagenic Growth. Often you just die before you've done anything other than activate Expedition Map. And ain't nobody playing 4x Pyroclasm mainboard in Tron Anno Domini 2023 lmao

I'm trying to figure out if The Mycosynth Gardens is a good enough card to run as a one of in a midrange artifact deck like that instead of just the busted things you can do with it with an LED or an Amulet in Modern.

Not going to lie, this video felt really lackluster in regards to Distorted Curiosity never being drawn or played. Yes this was still a really good video, and no, that part is not your fault since they had to come out for sideboarding and you can't control your draws, and you ultimately played well enough to get a 4-1 (congrats btw,) but I watched this video and I saw no reason as to why Distorted Curiosity was in the deck. I still feel like blue splash is more than warranted enough because of Blighted Agent, but you still probably would have got more mileage with two Groundswells or something, and you don't need the Distorted Curiosities to further justify a blue splash or try to get more out of a blue splash.

The two new cards feel perfect for compensating for the loss of git probe without going overboard. Your elf got removed? Well you still gave your opponent 4 poison counters and then another if they wanna kid rotpriest. And then you can draw two more cards to do it again.

@@markuskoivisto And nowhere near as 'glass-y', many lists are cutting out glistener elfs and getting some spellskites mainboard on UG. Others are running BG. It's in quite a fun stage right now as there really is no definitive version of it but overall it feels way stronger than it was.

As the local infect pilot for almost 3 years now, I prefer golgari over simic or sultai infect. Golgari has a better match against burn, and the phyrexian Crusader just makes solitude and fury players so frustrated. I even got someone to board wipe themselves trying to get rid of the Crusader. Op: I play anger of the gods. Me: *confused* ok... resolves. Op: Crusader dies. Me: No. Pro red. Op: Not targeting. Board wipe. Me: Doesn't matter. Pro red means anger of the gods doesn't touch him. It's doing damage not destroying. Op: That can't be right let me check. *we proceed to check the ability of protection* *op realizes he's wrong and just blew up his two great revels meaning he not only cleared his board while leaving mine untouched but took 4 damage doing so* Op: Well... f#%k me... good game then? Me: 😂 sure thing man.

That land is called Auntie's Hovel, it is a red/black dual land from Lorwyn block that enters tapped unless you reveal a goblin from your hand. It was part of a cycle so I believe there are equivalent cards for merfolk (wanderwine hub) and then faeries and treefolk, though my memory may be a little sketchy on those last 2. Edit: It was giants not treefolk and elves also got a land.

@@adavidavis2762 You were remembering correctly. The 2-color Tribal Lands came out in Lorwyn. Three more Tribal Lands came out in Morningtide. Treefolk got Murmuring Bosk-- a forest that also taps for black and white! Rustic Clachan (Kithkin) only tapped for white and could be discarded for 1W to put a +1/+1 counter on target creature. Primal Beyond was for elementals and could tap for either colorless or tap for any color of mana as long as it was spent on elementals.

There is nothing more embarrassing than losing to poison counters. feels bad emote - or whatever people do nowadays. Back in the day I had swamp mosquitoes try to wreck my life more than once, and it would have worked if I didn't try hard and make sure to have 3 morphlings in my blue based control deck. edit: this was before affinity. I think you'd just rather have the classic singleton Pendelhaven. It's not like you want to play 4x copies of The Seedcore. Even if you had room for more colorless lands, I think I'd rather have The Mycosynth Gardens just so I could copy Inkmoth Nexus. And _even_ then, I'd rather play something like Ghost Quarter to Ghost Quarter my opponents' Ghost Quarters. ...and none of those are better than playing something like an extra Breeding Pool, fetchland, or basic lol.

Rotpriest will be banned in standard by June. I think it will eventually get the ban in modern - it just enables way too many turn 2 kills. While modern is slightly more able to deal with this, standard can't. The card isn't healthy for the game at all.
