I remember when Wii U was released and I find this unboxing video.. this was my first Wii U unboxing I ever watch.

I think it's still important to give people the option for component cables. I encountered issues yesterday when I tried to record Wii U gameplay on my HD PVR2. Like the PS3, there's encryption over HDMI. I mentioned in my other video I had to go to Gamestop and buy the Wii component cables to be used with the Wii U.

I got it all for free. I asked Nintendo to send it to me prior to it being available in the stores so that I can check it out.

Because that's how the motioncontrols of the Wii and WiiU work. The sensorbar has LED's on it and the sensor in the Wii-mote sees where they are in relation to it and calculates your movements. They could have easily made a new thing, which wouldn't have been any better, to wring more money out of your pocket, but this way you can still use your Wii-motes and your old sensorbar and don't have to waste money if you already own a Wii.

Yea it will. Also, not sure if it brings the component cables but the component cable for Wii works with the Wii U also.

Ha! That gave me a chuckle. Not often I see a small KZbinr getting exclusive access to Nintendo, Xbox, and Playstation. It's 12/18/2012. Everyone and their grandmothers can go to the Nintendo Store in NYC and buy it. Though people are curious about how I got the console so early, I posted this video to show people what to look forward to and to know what to expect. And, to answer questions viewers and fans may have about the Wii U.

I'm Happy ever since the Wii Nintendo included games with the console because when I first got a gamecube I didn't have a game so I just watched the cube float at the start menu, listening to the music. Hoping one day I would play something...it would be 5 months before I actually could play something

Yes. That's what I mostly play on. I use the Gamepad more than I use the TV when playing NSMBU. It's just so comfortable playing on the Gamepad.

The sensorbar doesn't have to do anything with the motion controls. The LEDs inside of it are ONLY for the pointer. Before anybody tries to say I'm wrong play some Zelda Skyward Sword or Mario Kart Wii with disconnected Sensor bar.

I just remembered that the firmware I'm running isn't the final version. I can't accurately answer your question until after they release the final firmware.

the x-box controller is actually based off the game cube controller, just bigger. note the placement of the analog stick and the camera stick as well as the d-pad on the game cube controller. as far as the button layout goes, it models after the super nintendo controller and the playstation controllers.

That's the interesting thing I pointed out in my video. Other companies will include the component cables in the box and have you go buy your own HDMI cable. Nintendo chose to give you the HDMI cable and have you go buy your own component cable. You will need to buy Nintendo's component cable and plug it into the Multi AV port in the back.

I'm not sure about the Club Nintendo coins. The Deluxe Bundle cost $350 but it comes with Nintendo Land. I'll try to do more unboxings for 3rd party games. If Nintendo or the publisher doesn't specifically tell us we can't, we'll try to bring you more unboxings.

Keep in mind that I was at the E3 Nintendo press event a few years ago when they first announced the Wii U. I have been to numerous Wii U events since. I was also able to post Wii U gameplay videos a long time ago. There's a picture of me with the President of Nintendo. So yes, when I asked for an early edition, they sent it.

You can get the AV MULTI OUT cable and connect the Wii U to your Standard Def TV.

buyers of the basic bundle get a extra storage couse after the nesecerry instalation your only left with around 3 gb of space and with the update being around 4.8 gb

ZombiU is very very intense. It gets my heart racing when I have very little ammo and can barely see what's in front of me. You can always play Ninja Gaiden on another console. ZombieU is what makes Wii U special.

I rather not risk it. There is still so much to explore with the interface because I've just been playing Mario Bros whenever I have free time. Nintendo doesn't want us making a video of the menu system at this time. So far, Nintendo Land is played on TV and gamepad. Super Mario Bros can be played on just the gamepad. I don't even use the TV with Mario Bros because it's just so comfortable using the gamepad controller.

Do you currently own a Nintendo Wii? If so, then you can use that Wii multimedia cable. If not, you can either go buy the Nintendo Wii multimedia cable OR buy a 3rd party multimedia cable for the Wii. In either case, they both come with the white, red, & yellow plugs. These are the plugs you'll be using for NON-HD TV. These cables are so cheap and I know at Gamestop you can return used items in 7 days.

Yea but think of it this way. When consoles only included component cables (xbox360) or just regular AV cable (PS3 and Wii) people were complaining about not having HDMI. I'm just glad Nintendo finally realizes that HDMI is the way to go.

No. Because when I plugged in the AV cable, I had to navigate to the TV settings on the gamepad and change the output from HDMI to NON-HDMI.

I'm pretty sure you love how the pro controller feels in your hands, because it's just like a 360 controller! personally, I prefer the dual shock controller.

I sure hope the slot lights up blue like the Wii did when you get a message and I hope it records your play history even with Wii games I love that feature on the 3ds and Wii because it tells me exactly how many hours I've clocked on my Wii U with each title. Since I plan to play lots of Wii games on my Wii U I sure hope it does record time spent on those as well.

You don't need a unique capture card. I was able to record using the Hauppauge HD PVR 2. It would work with the PVR 1 as well.

Actually the Atari stick registers 8 directions, though you didn't specify how much directional motion the stick had. Analog is analog.

Lol for those of us that arent crazy awesome youtubers ;) The WiiU deluxe set is $350 US however while they are "sold out" in North America you might be able to find some, I found 4 in a Best Buy a few weeks ago. The regular set is $300. Each game is now $60. The pro controller I would guess is maybe $50 or $60, but I dont know the exact figure. A new gamepad is $180 and is only avalible from Nintendo at the moment.

I recommend the Deluxe Set because it's only $50 more and it comes with more things like more memory, a gamepad stand and cradle,a Wii U console stand, a $60 game, and a Deluxe Digital Promotion.

You can play on a non HDTV. You just need the Wii multimedia AV cable. I bought a used one from Gamestop for less than $15. I made a video about this. You can find it in my Wii U playlist.

Since I've played the first party games I want already an nothing I want is coming out 2013, I think you should wait. Nintendo gave us a hands on demo of Zelda, Mario Kart, and others at E3. But, they said those games aren't coming out until 2014.

The way the pad is, is the way they should have built the classic controler for wii, with anolog and d pad in same place as game cube nintendo pad. Looks good.

The games are no longer blurry! Everything is HD. I haven't tried Ninja Gaiden yet, but speaking for Mario Bros. U and NintendoLand, the games are HD and looks nice. It is still a side scroller Mario game. It's not 3D and it doesn't tax the graphics processor on the Wii U. I'll try out Ninja Gaiden either tonight or tomorrow.

You can't really go wrong with either console, but I'd say wiiu because if 8th gen is going to be like 7th then the wiiu and ps4 and microsofts consoles will have the same games from all the third party support and it will come down to the exclusives again and nobody can beat nintendos exclusives

I don't know why everyone's comparing the Wii U with the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Personally, I don't think they're anything alike, really. Well, yeah, the Wii U Pro controller does have a striking resemblance to the 360 controller, but never mind that. Sure some games from those consoles are gonna be on the Wii U, but Nintendo's got a lot of original games that will do perfectly on the Wii U. Like Kirby. And I'm really excited for Luigi's Mansion, too. (Been waiting years for this sequel)!!

odd....because its been confirmed that you have to install an update thats going to be released on release day, and that update allows you to play wii games...you cant play before the update.

Yea, that's why I found it weird that the voltage for the gamepad was 4.75. It's like Nintendo purposely doesn't want anyone to plug a 5V usb cable into it. I would guess they don't want people hacking the gamepad.

Thanks. The voltage was very weird because a lot of times I would at least see 110-120. 110 is Japan and 120 is North America. I'm guessing Nintendo doesn't want people buying it in the states and reselling it overseas.

I think it's the TV studios. When I was at the Nintendo press event in NYC, Reggie introduced Nintendo TVii. Nintendo is trying to make the Wii U a staple in the living room. I think they have a better shot than Google. Nintendo already partnered with KZbin, Hulu, Netflix. I suspect it's those partners that wanted secure HDMI so people can't record tv shows or movies directly off the Wii U.

They sent it in the mail using a regular old card board box. If you're thinking of scouring the post office for these boxes, there's no Nintendo symbol on them. It's just a plain brown box.
