This 2x2 and 4x4 cubes are game-changing. They not only make me turn accurately, but they are so loud and catchy that we are thankful that GAN exists. With the brilliant tile design, nobody can ever peel the stickers off. They can't even turn the cube so the cube will always be solved. But if you can't scramble it you can't solve it, like a 1x1. Absolutely ridicu- er, amazing. Love the work Rubik's is doing.

5:21 if we measure the velocity and deceleration of that packaging, we can finally work out how far the table extends beyond the screen
@snow170482 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome or I’m sorry Take this as you wish Well you could probably get a decent estimate without taking into affect the deceleration. Velocity would be V=x/t We’re trying to find x (displacement). You could get the velocity by using the cube as a reference and take the amount of frames (time) it takes to move a certain amount of pixels (displacement ). Then get the time before we hear the box hit the ground (ignoring the height of the table and the amount of time it takes for the the box to fall). Then you could finally figure out how far the table extends. Though you wouldn’t know how far the table extends in the other direction. I would actually calculate it, but frankly I don’t want to

I really like the Rubik's brand. I know they're slow and not simple, but they're very nice for people who have no idea what they're doing. It helped me go through the algorithms very slowly and then once I got faster I upgraded to a much better cube... But with the 3x3s when I started really getting into it, I got a speedcube right away and I kept overturning the crap out of it and losing my place and it was very frustrating. So I enjoy starting with a much slower cube that requires time.

I absolutely love your content, and I've always rooted for you and how you've taken cubing to whole new audiences by making it as accessible and understandable as you possibly can. But I feel like you always over-exaggerate when a cube is "bad," i.e. turns poorly, is sluggish, or just not your style. Cubing hardware across the board is exceptional now, from pretty much any speedcube manufacturer, and while that does allow for the threshold of quality to evolve and make for newer puzzles to have to achieve far more to make a niche for themselves, I feel like your criticisms of cubes like the new Rubik's 4x4 forget just how far cubing hardware has come in the last 12+ years. It's nowhere near as bad as the Eastsheen, the Meffert's 4x4, or even the Maru 4x4. I absolutely love your content, and I always look forward to each upload, and I know a lot of the criticism your hurl at these cubes is in good fun, but the context and perspective of how good hardware is now could be a bigger talking point in these impression/review videos. I'll admit, though - that 2x2 makes no sense. Literally just 2 more screws and springs and that cube could be so much more usable. I'd love to see if cutting the rivets and replacing them with screws and springs would make the cube even remotely better.
@yelv2 жыл бұрын
The difference is that when we judge cubes now, we do it in the context of their current competition. Sure the rubiks 4x4 is better than a 4x4 from 10 years ago, but if you’re buying a 4x4 today, you make the decision by comparing it to current hardware. Because if this there’s no point in comparing a rubiks 4x4 to a 4x4 from last decade
@JPerm2 жыл бұрын
I understand your criticism, as these cubes are good compared to how bad they could get. But I make the comparison in the context of what's currently available. If you had an eastsheen 4x4 now, I'd still say it's bad because you could easily get one that is much better.

Hello, please consider doing this challenge: solve a monochrome shape-mod of Rubik's cube WITHOUT LOOKING AT ALL. Example of puzzles like that: the heart shaped puzzle (easier level), ghost cube (more difficult level). This means you have to rely on touching and feeling the pieces, and be careful with similar pieces. The heart puzzle has some pairs like that and wouldn't make smooth surface with the wrong pieces or wrong orientation of the centers.

I just can't believe how good you are at cubing, and I'm dying to know, why and when did you start cubing? 3. How do you know which position to put the last layer in to perform an E perm correctly, whenever I do it, I usually have to do an H perm after it to solve the cube? 4. lastly, how can you make money off of cubing, I looked it up and all that came up was making bets with people out in public, but that sounds boring, any ideas? I have the originals from the 1980's when they first were sold, plus the 1983 Professor's 5x5x5 cube. The 1981 4x4x4 was named Rubik's Revenge, and its internals was a slotted sphere and long narrow legs on the center pieces, which made it fragile. The Professor's cube had a internal structure like a cube within a cube, and later 4x4x4 like Eastsheen used a similar internal structure. I also have a Chinese "Magic" 6x6x6 with corners and outer edges same size as rest of pieces.

Goes to show the hardware reliance of higher-level cubers. It's neat to see what happens when a professional cuber meets a cube that doesn't next to break at the seams to let him do every turn only half way and isn't full of magnets. Tbf, I don't disagree with using speedcubes, but seeing how someone deals with a cube that isn't so free is fun.
