Definitely way better Asian options in your area! Metairie was famous for having a Chinese sheriff for a long time (Harry Lee) and his family had a Chinese restaurant.

We ate at China Rose very often when my mother-in-law was still alive. Great food, but my wife doesn't like going any more because it makes her miss her mother.

Always a challenge dealing with grief. The missing tends to stay but through time maybe gets less intense so maybe she can enjoy eating there again eventually.
