Hot off the plane from Atlanta, we hit up Mother’s for breakfast. This place came highly recommended for their down home Southern cooking. They did not disappoint!
Luke’s is famous for their Happy Hour raw oysters. At only 75 cents each ($2.25 reg), it’s a steal!
Now that Popeyes Chicken says their chicken sandwiches are available nationwide, we just had to finally give them a go. No line and no wait, woot!
Golden Chips makes some pretty close to authentic Belgium fries. A great mid-day snack.
For dinner, we checked out the famous K-Paul’s Louisiana Kitchen. K-Paul, a celebrity chef knows Southern cooking. Did we mention they serve a blackened Prime ribeye?
Mother’s Restaurant, 401 Poydras St, New Orleans, LA 70130
Luke’s, 333 Saint Charles Ave, New Orleans, LA 70130

Golden Chips, 537 Toulouse St, New Orleans, LA 70130

Mothers restuarant reminded me of my grandma telling me to take this very large bowl and go pick the wild blackberries and raspberries on top of the hill. Don't come back until the bowl is full. Best pie I ever ate. My fingers were stained for weeks.

K-Paul's was my first "Bucket List" restaurant in my whole life!, It was 20 years ago and it was on my list since I was 22 years old. Dinner upstairs is always perfection, lunch downstairs is remarkably casual. Im now 55 so if you do the math it was important. 10 meals in, 1 dead chef (Major Respect) RIP PP, and I still LOVE the place!!! I'm glad you both loved it!!!

This was really cool to watch because of the K-Paul's...I've always wanted to eat at his restaurant because he was such a renowned New Orleans chef. I used to watch him and Justin Wilson on TV years ago....two very famous Cajun chefs. Thanks to you guys I will definitely eat there next time I'm in NOLA. :)

Try a muffaletta from Central Grocery on Decatur St. in the French Quarter. Get there early cause they usually run out before 3 pm. You can buy a half or a whole. The store must be experienced as it's an old store with wood floors, etc. & smells incredible!! And has all kind of food for sale! And have some Zapps potato chips!

I found Mothers to be very dirty and by far my least favorite restaurant in NOLA. notice the paper bags of poboy bread on top of the counter over the food, I saw 20 of those bags stacked in a unused garage style side room on the concrete floor. BUT that Biscuit!!!! OMG. my final dis on Mothers is because of the crowds I felt processed and not served. Stand there not here, keep moving forward, there's a line I need your order. That's extra! then served with no smile or salutations.
