The Philippines is simply exercising it's Exclusive Economic Zone rights granted to it by UNCLOS. China, a signatory to that convention, is claiming ownership over 90% of the South China Sea which includes the Philippines economic zone. China has harassed the Philippines fishermen some were rammed and left to drown, Philippines fishing vessels and even it's coast guard ship was rammed and bombarded with water canon. China has no legal or historical foundation to claim the Philippines economic zone as the UN Arbitral Court ruled in favor of the beleaguered ASEAN member nation.

Oil extraction therefore within its EEZ should immediately commence under the support of the US military and allies. As explored in the past there are potential Oil reservoirs in many areas within Philippine EEZ places that are possible to put up Oil Platforms. These Oil Rigs can be constructed at a parallel time. Contract to construct Oil Platforms may be executed by the US, AUSTRALIA AND JAPAN as they are allies showing serious commitment to help support to secure the EEZ of the Philippines, their navy ships along with the Philippine navy and coast guards should be stationed around to provide protection during the installation process throughout operations of oil extraction were successfully achieved. Just to put things in its proper perspective, NO SINGLE country owns the entire South China Sea just as no single country owns the entire Mediterranean Sea, Arabian Sea, Baltic Sea, Caribbean Sea, Black Sea….etc. China doesn’t own the South China Sea simply because it has the word “China” in it. Take note. The Arabian Sea is not owned by Saudi Arabia. The Gulf of Mexico is not owned by Mexico and the Indian Ocean is not owned by India. Usually these bodies of water were named as such in maps for directional or navigational purposes in the past or giving homage to patrons of explorers and discoverers or cultural or mythical beliefs which carry religious, symbolical or historical meaning. It is called “South” China Sea since it is located “South” of China. This body of water is also called “West” Philippine Sea because it is West of the Philippines. When Japan was defeated in World War II, the Republic of China claimed the Paracels, Pratas and Spratly Islands in the South China Sea after Japan surrendered these islands based on the Cairo and Potsdam Declarations. However, the terms of the declarations did not specify China’s sovereignty over the archipelagos and surrounding waters. So in 1947 China officially came out with those “dash line” claims on the South China Sea after showing a U-shaped figure in the map in 1946. In 2016 the Philippines won in the UN Arbitral Tribunal declaring that China’s 9 dash line claim over the South China Sea is without merit. China never participated in the proceedings stating that it doesn’t recognize the Tribunal’s jurisdiction. China further asserted that it has historical claims over the territory. However, during the proceedings at the UN Arbitral Tribunal, the Philippine delegation submitted historical maps from 1136 to 1933. These maps included ancient Chinese maps. And the maps revealed that China exercised sovereign rights in the south only until the Hainan province. And this sovereign rights never extended to the large portion of the South China Sea as what China was claiming. So even historically, China’s historical claim couldn’t stand! What is obviously concerning is the fact that China is a signatory to the 1982 UNCLOS law wherein it embodies the concept of EEZ or Exclusive Economic Zones of countries. By signing the law, China is recognizing the EEZ’s of countries that are within the South China Sea.The fact that China is presently violating this rule is not only ludicrous but also hypocritical on itself. China’s historical claim on the South China Sea is truly outrageous and absurd. If we give validation to this ridiculous historical claims over territories then countries such as Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Greece, Italy, Turkey……etc. with Ancient documented history such as Ancient Mesopotamian, Babylonian, Roman, Greek, Persian, Ottoman, Egyptian…etc culture will start claiming the Seas or bodies of water around them. These countries will be claiming historical claims that are actually older than the historical claim of China. But the fact remains that these countries doesn’t do what China is insanely doing. Moreover, if China continues with this narrative of historical claim, can China then claim parts of Korea? Or Vietnam? These countries were part of the Han Dynasty in Chinese history. Can China also claim Siberia and the entire Central Asia like Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan…etc.? Since these countries too were part of the ancient Chinese empire. Furthermore, if China insists with its historical claims over territories then China must yield and surrender to Mongolia’s historical claim if and when Mongolia asserts its historical claim over China since China was under the rule of Kublai Khan in history. This is why ancient historical claims are really absurd and ridiculous. Because there will be no stop in moving backwards in the past for a certain claim that existed depending on what era that claim existed. Ancient? Medieval? Renaissance? It could even reach the Ice age with a Prehistoric archaeological claim. Ancient historical claim must remain what it is….ancient, since it has no place in the present setting of things. However, China knows that its claim cannot be sustained whether historically or under present laws. It just has to state something whether these bare unreliable historical claims or twisted historical facts are verifiable in order to justify clearly and obviously what China is doing. And that is “bullying”! Specially when it bullies smaller nations like the Philippines. Psychology experts are correct in saying that bullying is the result of the bully’s insecurities. No wonder China’s historical claim is not only shockingly ridiculous and absurd but it also insecure. If China’s appalling and abhorrent historical claims is not corrected, then what would prevent China from claiming other bodies of water or territories in the future? With its outrageous unreliable historical claims does it really want to dominate the world? China just came out with another version of their “official” map in the South China Sea. The 10 dash line map which occupies a larger portion of the South China Sea. This angered not only a new country like India but also its friendly partner Russia! China’s new map includes the entire Bolshoi Ussursky Island and this claim doesn’t sit well with Russia. I remember the pact Germany and Russia (old Soviet Union) made before World War 2. The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. A nonaggression pact between the 2 countries. This pact was later ignored by Hitler himself when Hitler decided to invade Russia. A backstabbing incident by Hitler! Will there be a repeat of history with this highly publicized Russia-China Alliance today? Remember, one of the reason for the Ukraine war is another historical claim from Putin that Ukraine has a long history as being a part of the Russian empire. With China also being a maestro in making outrageous historical claims. It can claim historical rights over Siberia. As I said earlier Siberia was part of the Ancient Chinese Empire. What would prevent China from making this crazy claim in the future? Will there be another backstabbing incident by one? Or among themselves? Well China’s new 10 dash line map claiming the entire Bolshoi Ussursky Island is a start.

Regarding the arbitration, the tribunal was not authorized by the United Nations and was illegal. The Philippines' arbitration claim is essentially a territorial issue and a maritime delimitation issue. Territorial issues are not the scope of the Convention, but the scope of customary international law. Regarding the issue of maritime delimitation, China made an exclusion statement in 2006 in accordance with Article 298 of the Convention, excluding issues involving maritime delimitation, historical ownership, military operations, administrative law enforcement and other issues from the application of compulsory dispute settlement procedures, and does not accept third parties. Compulsory dispute resolution process. More than thirty countries around the world have made similar exclusionary statements. Among the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, except for the United States, which has not joined the Convention, the other four countries have excluded it. Therefore, it is illegal for the Philippines to initiate an arbitration case, and the arbitral tribunal should not have jurisdiction over this case. From the perspective of the legal system and principles, any judgment issued by an illegal court is invalid and irrelevant. No matter what kind of award the arbitral tribunal makes, it will inevitably involve territorial disputes and maritime delimitation disputes. The arbitral tribunal established in accordance with the Convention has extended the authority granted to it by the Convention to the scope and areas regulated by customary international law, and to issues of territorial sovereignty. This is a serious abuse of power by the arbitral tribunal. The Philippines clearly knows that the arbitral tribunal has no jurisdiction over disputes involving territorial and maritime delimitation, but it has wantonly disguised and evaded it, packaging territorial and maritime delimitation issues into issues of interpretation and application of the Convention. This is the core conspiracy of the Philippines.

Freedom of navigation at WPS will surely deter the aggressive chinese military expansion...thats the reason why additional U.S. military forces are deployed in the Phil. Islands....w/o military nations cooperation...china can immediately invade Taiwan and establish aggresive military sea gate way directly at U.S.A. ...allied forces are big help in WPS...plus other nation that are sided with U.S.A....in times of war...Bashi channel bet. Northern side of Phil and Taiwan will be properly isolated..including gate way-channel near India and Indonesia...that will definitly isolate the military movement of chinas wrong doings in WPS...it will soon paralised their un acceptable devils military maneuvers plan...in that situation their first option is to back off at WPS and eat their ego... second grave option is war...they surely surrender coz that strategy was already applied during WW2- Japan Imperial Military Forces surrender to U.S.-Forces...History repeat it self when it comes to war...Any invading country will surely much more suffer the consequenses...thats the main reason why there are Mutual "Balikatan"-U.S. + Allied Forces in the Phil. regularly ...in order to show the proper protection to every peaceful nation...it will also china think 101 times before they will create a negative impact of war to their brainwash/robotic military forces...right now...chinese top brass are creator of problems at Sea & Land bounderies around the world...their main objective is to tapple U.S.A. and dominate the world...right now the ball is on their hand...they are obliged to properly drible and pass thru proper manner... solved their own military problems...in short time will come china will falldown........same with Iraq, Russia etc....

The Philippines observe the One China Policy and we the informed Filipinos reject US pressure to engage China in a proxy war to advance its strategic interest. We have nothing to do with the US-China conflict and your narrative is amplifying minor issues in the South China Sea that disturbs the peace and stability of the region.

. Philippines' claim of sovereign rights over SCS is misleading. UNCLOS came into force in 1994. Vietnam has claims of the entire Spratleys and occupied most of the features to forestall the ROC's occupation of those features since the 70s.

**After the Japanese surrendered in 1945, Manchuria, Taiwan and all the islands/reefs/isles in the Taiwan Strait and in the South China Sea were returned back to China (at that time, China was officially designated as ROC). And in 1946, ROC published a map showing the 11 dash-lines around the South China Sea. And when the Chinese soldiers needed to sail over to look after the various islands (like the Paracel Islands, the Scarborough Shoal, the Spratley Islands .. etc..), the US govt used their large US naval ship to help ROC to transport the Chinese soldiers to the various locations as indicated by the 11 dash-lines. Currently, POTUS Biden and the US govt may pretend to suffer "dementia" and to spin a lie to allege that those islands/reefs don't belong to China and the Chinese people ... but there were historical events, photos and documentary records to show the truth to the world.
@romeocivilino6667 Жыл бұрын
Nope, that's False. And those islands are already part of the Philippines, and US cannot really unilaterally gave those territories to a state that's not really theirs, to other states henceforth the ambiguous US position.
