New Portal in Sea of Thieves!

This is my possible theory on how this new portal will be used not for teleportation, but for instancing into your own game to complete the new tall tales. Enjoy the video!

I think the portal will also be a way to travel to the sea of the damned, It's another dimension to enter like the nether in minecraft.

I would like to see the portal implemented for more content in the future. Such as dungeons for pirate legends that you entered through a portal in Athena's Fortune Hideout? Maybe portals for special events on smaller maps with more crews? There are a lot of possibilities with this new feature and it would be a shame if they don't build off it.

Oh my gosh heck yeah! This would be really cool! Maybe this portal could be the first step in them eventually implementing these in the future. I mean this is already such a massive update but it seems to mainly be tall tale story line. What is there was an update that was equally as big bit focused on end game content. This game just has so much potential!

I think this is a solid theory, you definitely have a lot of reasoning to back it up. As someone who's interested in making multiplayer games instancing something that's superrr important.

They said something about being able to do the new tall tales *'alone'* There is speculation that this may mean it's easy when you're doing it solo, but the more popular theory is that it backs up your theory of multiple instances of the tallt ale environment when activated by selerate crews

I could see it going either way, or maybe even both. When new content is released they keep folks separate but after a few months, and everyone’s had a chance to try it, start merging the zones.

Yah it will be interesting to see what happens! I'm really curious how big the zone is going to be. It must be massive because there are 5 tall tales so there must be a lot of islands and space to sail through. It would be cool if it was all one world but I can see it going either way!

I think it is just for tall tales, but.... I also think there will most likely be areas to explore and discover secret books and secrets. I would be very surprised if it was linear and nothing to explore. I don't think there will be other players at the sea of the damned and I don't think there will be random ship battles either but there is just no way to know. It would be cool if Davy Jones was a random encounter while at the sea of the damned but I bet he is just a boss at the end of a tall tale.

I don’t think it would be that simple. All you have to do is have your ship go close to the portal, and you go through it. Quick enough
