Great first go! And thanks for sharing it, too! Definitely helps us when learning with you! Your bowl is lovely. I did this with a paper and a pencil at a free DecoArt demo at an artist conference once. I think if you redip you add more drops of color first so you get the color integrity like the first dip. I have a .ot invested in paints and UV resin so it may be a while before I can give this a go! Can't wait to see your next make with what you learned on this go around!

I saw this done with spray paint. You just spray the water with spray paint then dip. It looked much easier and probably less expensive. I would get a baking rack to set it on to dry. But I really like how it came out. It's funny because I just made that bowl for a succulent garden. I marbled it using resincrete. Great job! Have a great day!!!
@resinmeup6 ай бұрын
Ali, I've seen the spray paint, but Im not liking how it leaves the surface raised. This actually stains the surface and it doesn't come off. Thank you 🤗🥰

Dip it more slowly and at an even speed. You did a great job. You can also take a stick and swirl the surface of the paint floating before you dip. 😊

I love the end result, especially as it's the first time you've used this product! I was wondering if using a whisk rather than the spatula to mix with as you add your magic powder might have avoided the clumping that you had to deal with?

@funo65816 ай бұрын
That is so cool! It looks like it’d be really fun to try.. minus the stirring part.😅 Would using a whisk or your Istoyo mixer create too many bubbles? Can you add more drops of acrylic and dip a second time with the same gel water? I watched a hydro dip video quite a while ago where they created a floral pattern on the surface of the water.. I think it was a floral pattern. Anyway, they were dipping ceramic plates, I would not have thought it possible to get that kind of precision with a moving medium, it was incredible. Your bowl looks amazing, you did a great job Mary, especially for your first try.❤
@resinmeup6 ай бұрын
Thank you Annette🥰🤗 from what Im hearing you can add more color before redipping, which makes sense, but I didn't think about it🤦🏻♀. I've seen a few videos of the flower technique, I will need a bit more practice before I take that🤣🤣

Definitely wont be doing the powder like that again, like I said in the video, it was a bad choice. And I think if I use a whisk to mix it while I sprinkle it will be be better. 🥰
@hayleymariemills6 ай бұрын
Maybe mix that stuff into a small amount of water and then pour it into the other water! I've done water marbling with nail polish and the key to getting lots of colors and sworls is adding way more color than you think you need. Also, you can carefully take a stick through the colors and make wavy wispy designs.

@passerineblue5 ай бұрын
@@resinmeup Yes, it worked very well. I am just noting that this technique was invented for flat surfaces. I have never seen it done on rounded three dimensional pieces. Have you ever seen anyone on youtube doing a bowl?? I think you would have to do two baths to get both sides of the dish.
