About 4 years ago a friend of mine sent me a picture from an Eagles concert. Joe Walsh was playing a PRS SE on stage. It looked like a CE. When I zoomed in I could easily see the SE on the headstock. These are great guitars. My favorite is still my 245.

Joe Walsh is a budget gear hero. Went from ruling the world with a 50s Bassman and a 59 Les Paul to playing through a Blues Deluxe reissue on the Eagles reunion tour

Couldnt have been SE CE because those didnt exist before this. Its hard to tell a CE apart from a custom 24 without seeing the back though. Either way props to successful musicians who arent gear elitists and just play what they like even if its a budget guitar

I have a PRS SE baritone from around 2016. Best guitar I've ever owned. Granted I've never been able to afford a guitar that costs thousands, so I'm sure there are better out there, but still, I've never needed more. Beautiful, comfortable, perfect build, plays true, sounds fantastic. Fits me like it was custom built. I've never had a guitar grow on me like this one. Cost me around $700, plays like it was $1,200. Edit: Also the only guitar I haven't had customized in any way. It came to me already perfect.

@@melaniebrown8282 u love it, I can't put mine down, it plays as good as my core prs or my American fenders, I'm very surprised by the swamp ash, I played some other swamp ash guitars and hated them, it was very neutral tone. But these are like twangy fender prs growl in one. Very happy, I buy alot of guitars, this has been the best one of this year. Prs is killing it like usual.

I haven’t played too many SE electrics yet. But I will say this: PRS makes the absolute best sub $1000 acoustic that I’ve ever played. The SE A60E is the absolute best acoustic that I’ve played for under $1000. The acoustic took my breath away when I took it out of it’s case. And it was like butter. Idk why I haven’t tried their electrics yet. Rn I have a custom shop strat and a sg standard t, and I’ve been wanting a gibson 335. I had a sire larry Carlton 335 that was pretty good, just too heavy. Maybe instead of looking for a used gibson 335 I should instead check out a prs se semi hollow 🤔

Just got a SE Paul's guitar from Sweetwater during guitar month. Got the plek and had them satinize the neck. It plays wonderfully and sounds killer. The stock pickups are surprisingly good, even for metal and such. I'm loving they new SE guitars. Probably pick one up and have Sweetwater make the whole body/neck satin. @30rpower Жыл бұрын
I'm glad you mentioned the 24 fret models' slightly different pickup locations do in fact affect the tone a bit. My S2 Standard 24 has absolute knock-out "position 4" Strat sounds when split in the middle position. I realized it must have something to do with the pickups being spaced tighter than the 22 fret models, but I'd never heard anyone else mention this before. I immediately wanted to jump on the SAS because I love those middle Strat tones...but I still prefer what I get out of my Standard 24!

Once the "SE CE" lines come out, the inventory of dealers and customers who have purchased CE's at $2700 evaporates. What do you think of the cost of the inventory losses of the dealers? And the re-sale of the used ones. My bet is the SE CE line will take off, because of the price point difference. Cortex does put out a great guitar in the SE line. I have an SE McCarty right now, I would never purchase an S2 McCarty or a Core McCarty at this time, there is not that much difference between the three. And between post-processors, you can tweak the sound.

Thanks Phil. I don’t keep up with PRS at all so, it’s fun to see that SE are keeping up with Squier and Epiphone in the quality department and possibly exceeding expectation by offering ash wood. Perhaps the next Classic Vibe or Epiphone 59 LP will be upgraded with more Vintage-correct choices since PRS seems to be going that extra mile.

Hello Phillip, PRS SE’s very nice. Personally love the weight. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Played in HS getting back in for my finger dexterity. Much has changed. the black head is very nice especially on that guitar but i depends on the guitar a painted body often looks good with a painted headstock natural or burst body matching headstock. I enjoy your channel immensely.

I’m usually not the target demographic for the SE guitars, I play core models, but man - these sound sweet. The SE models seem to be getting better and better. And for the price . . . I started playing in 1981, and I can tell you the “affordable” guitars of that day sucked compared to the level of quality PRS is putting out in the SE line. I’ve always had a soft spot for the CE model, my first PRS was a 2000 CE-22 with a purple flame cap and Dragon 2 pickups. I miss that guitar. The one that interests me is the SAS, but I’d definitely re-wire it with a six position “Free-Way” toggle and make the pull up know a coil split - get all the pickup possibilities.

I'm torn between one of these PRS SE and an Epiphone Les Paul. The neck of the PRS feels so good to me but I think I like the sound, from what I can tell, of the Epiphone. I'm a beginner that really enjoys finger style and have played ukulele for about a year, then got a Yamaha APXT2 2 months ago and realized I love guitar because of how much more well rounded and fun it is to have those bass strings to add in to anything I play. Now I just bought a Cordoba C10 CD (and returned a GK Studio) and want an electric guitar to add to the rack. I'm a software engineer and am always at the computer and love just having these to grab during boring zoom calls or breaks. Also to play while cooling down at night. The yamaha is the guitar I'm throwing around with the stickers on the frets as I evolve my music knowledge. I also intend on getting a keyboard and maybe a bass to add at some point to round out what I enjoy. I like having the tool I want to grab and fiddle with. I have a setup with musical interface and ableton to record some basic stuff to learn that part as well. I'm all in! But stuck between one of these and the Epiphone Les Paul custom in black with gold hardware

What beautiful looking and sounding guitars. I just wish guitar companies would make a model with the volume control set back out of the way. It really limits them cause alot of people cant play them. Do the manufacturers not know this? I think its over half of guitar players. One of those would be my next guitar if they did. Maybe they could make a color matching 'hole plug', it would cost almost nothing. I think we need a big celebrity like Phil McKnight to say something on behalf of the 117 million people that view your show. Wow thats alot more than the 30 people that watch my stuff, lol :)
