Haha dude your “it’s the most complete work in progress I’ve ever seen” quote is the best

Its better to start corruption penalties to high, andR have to tone it down then start it to low and have to crank it up, the latter will always give complaints while the former will be cheered on. Regarding server wipes, i assume we might get a server wipe every major update (roadmap to alpha 2 aprox 6 weeks) depending on the update. The rest seemed to be micro patches etc.

How does the action combat feel? I’ve heard mixed things with more of a bias towards feeling like average tab target combat.

It needs work. If you're grading combat on a curve for an alpha i think it's solid, but it's nowhere close to being able to compete with good combat mmos right now. The progress relative to the other games is impressive though imo.

Ok cool. The fact that it feels impressive for its current state as an alpha is reassuring, I was a bit worried reading some posts from pre a2 players. I have high hopes that it can get to the level or even surpass the feeling of the top combat mmos. I’ll catch you in game on Friday!

@@Visual.Expansion yeah of course it's all subjective. I broke it down in my latest video like this: It's equal in responsiveness to throne and liberty's melee combat It has better movement with a weapon than throne and liberty. T n l is stationary and it feels bad. Collisions aren't as polished in ashes. So Imo it feels better but looks worse, as a comparison

Leveling based on content is bad game design. It pretty much means seriously specific process that you have to follow through to get to the end of the game and it implies that the goal is to get to the end of the game. Leveling by a period of time allows you to have the freedom to decide to play the game the way you want and it implies that the goal is to experience the game not follow through a pointless plot line over and over again. Time based leveling allows for significantly better replayability and player retention.

@@TheYashakami yeah, I say later that I'd prefer it if the leveling experience wasn't tied to the story line as well, I just don't want the game to be all town boards or all grinding mobs. Hundreds of hours of the same boring content kills retention too. There has to be a few things to do, be it side quests, grinding, player progression paths etc
