New Quarter Panel and Outer Wheel House Install Timelapse

Installing a full quarter and outer wheel house in about 24 hours. This is time lapse is part of my car restoration.
She's not a Mustang GT or a Mach 1, or GT500, or a 65 Mustang Fastback. Nope, she's a simple straight 6 but I love her. Maybe someday she'll get a coyote engine swap. I was going to do a floor pan replacement, but this turns into a simple floor pan repair. Still, it's tough to do without welding.

That was fun to watch. I could have watched an hour-long video of this process. The trimming and refitting that never seems to take end. When you bought the Iron 6, you had no major bodywork experience. Look at you now! Well done, my friend. Proud of you!

As a noobe in auto repair, can you give a rundown on the other tools you are using, specifically your mig welder? I’m working on a Triumph TR 4. Thanks for the videos.

My mig welder is ancient. Its an old Campbell Hausfeld Mig/Flux welder. The best advice I can give you for mig welding is get some sheet metal, clean it real good with acetone, and practice running short beads on it. You want to dial in the "sizzling bacon sound." Another really good tip I was given is if you're burning through, try upping your wire speed before dialing down your heat. The main tools I used for this job were; mig welder, angle grinder with sanding and cutting discs, a drill and 5/8 bit to weaken the spot welds, spot weld chisel to break the welds, a torch to melt the lead filler, seamstress tape measure, clamps, and a box of sheet metal screws to hold panels in place while test fitting everything. You will do A LOT of test fitting to make sure everything lines up before doing the final welding. I probably put this quarter panel on and off 20 times before finally welding it in. Hope this helps!

Im thinking on not removing the entire outter wherl well. My rocker area is mostly not there.front of the right rear well/fender. My fram rail thing in the trunk. Im splicing it too.dang rear panel is ruff in my same side c oner? Ordered inner wells today. Im g unna piece whats needed. I dont want to remove all that. Great video!
