In order to fit the outer wheelhouse properly, 3/4 of an inch will need to be removed.

scribe the line on the blue and remove that metal slowly working up to the qtr panel...rather than chasing the blk panel to meet the blue..just to make work easier..following you since day one ...great work you are doing

Thanks John. I'll take your advice to finish up the panel. I appreciate you tuning in through out this project!

Thanks Doug. Viewing it that way takes a lot of pressure off. Plus, the end goal is to have something fun to drive that looks good...not perfect. You’re doing great on your channel! 👍

More great progress. Your skills have certainly grown. Impressive!!! In case you did not see my latest video, I was able to drive my stang for the first time in about 10 months. Also got my merch store up using that amazing image you created of my car. Thanks for allowing me to use it.

Both the work flow on the mustang and the video is smoother. Small patches and tracing with a marker. A can of white or black spray paint and a quick light mist works great too, just hold or tape metal or cardboard to the gap and hit the other side with the spray, exact stencil. Good job on the growth of skills and movement forward on the project!

Love to see how quickly this quarter panel is coming along. Nothing beats experience (both good and bad). I did go ahead and purchase a laser level like yours. It paid for itself when I was lining up the rear valance panel. Should have gotten one a long time ago.

On one of previous commits I was curious about safety glasses, it appeared you didn't have them on. Anyway, I was using a cutoff wheel and wearing safety glasses and a chip hit my cheek just below the safety glass and guess what? Yep, it popped into my left eye. I went to the water hose and flushed my eye and saved a trip to the emergency room. Now I wear safety glasses and a full face shield when grinding and cutting. BTW the way you are making tremendous progress and your welding skills keep improving. I appreciate your positive attitude.

Thanks Jerry. Back in November I a similar thing happen. A thin metal shaving flew up under my glasses. I tried to flush it with no luck. When I made it to the eye doctor the next day it had already started to rust to my eye. Fortunately he was a good eye doctor and got me fixed up quickly.

I often wonder what car the wheelhouses are actually supposed to fit. My other thought is that they make one wheelhouse and just say it fits every car from the 60s... As for getting the quarter finished. Let me get listed for a flight and I'll come help you get it finished.

I think if you would have melted out the factory lead seam f installed the full panel instead of cutting to make it fit it would have went on easier. As far as the outer wheelhouse it was obviously a cheaper piece that didn’t fit well because you shouldn’t of had to cut out a section to get it to fit. Hope the lead seam doesn’t interfere with the installation.
