You did it the HARD way. Place the 5" squares right sides facing . Sew down left side and then the right side. Cut in half (2.5") top to bottom and then in half (2.5:) side to side. Then turn the pieces to make the 4 patch. Saves sewing the small pieces together and saves a step or two. If using jelyroll, cut two 5" straps. Sew right sides together on one edge and cut at 2.5". Then make it a 4 patch.

Hi Fallon! I used to be cautious and stay away from pre-cuts because of the cost. However, I recently had an epiphany when I realized that buying fabric by the yard may technically be less expensive than buying pre-cuts, they end up costing more in storage space and mind clutter than using precuts that produce less in the way of scraps. I also wanted to thank you for providing one of the giveaways at the Sister Chicks quilting retreat that I went to a week ago. Although I didn't win your donation, it was exciting to see another quilter win. Many thanks!!!

That jelly roll! I have to get that! And the stripes! Great tips on lining up the lines. I love this! I’m so jealous that you can chain piece like that. I’ve tried that method a few times and always end up twisting. I love both of these, but the jelly roll one is my favorite. Thanks, Fallon!

The jelly roll is gorgeous! I loved the prints and colors. The stripes gave me a run for my money until I figured out a way that worked for me to line them up!

Awesome tutorial Fallon, I loved both versions, however, since purple is my favorite color, the charm pack version gets my vote. I did love the striped border though so and I do have some striped fabric, so I would do the charm pack version and cut some purple and yellow striped strips for my binding. So cool, I am in awe!

My fave is the jelly roll quilt, but it may be because the first quilt I ever made (in 2018) was a purple and yellow quilt and I am tired of it. Although, haha, I am currently making another purple-ish and yellow-ish quilt for my lavender and yellow bedroom. Also, I appreciate the tips you give in your videos. ❤
