I think he was comparing it to other hybrid vehicles, and not to full on BEVs. Other hybrids typically take much longer than that to charge despite them having smaller battery packs than the P440e.

What about full electric acceleration, how it works at full throttle etc? Any useful tech info?

It does not have the acceleration you'd expect from an EV. In EV only mode it's really bad. You floor it in EV only and the car barely moves. You can only use it on highways when you're already up to speed. It would not safely merge into ongoing traffic in EV only mode because of the lack of power. I guess we need to wait for the full EV version. I went with the P400 and i'm waiting for the full EV version.

In South Africa the D350 is recommended by all dealers. So, I went with it too. Our distances are quite long and diesel is advisable. The charging infrastructures are way behind Europe and USA. So the ICE vehicles are still advisable. Nice review by the way.

I’ve just got the new p440e and had the previous 2019 model. Massive difference in refinement, comfort and the rear wheel steer is a game changer. Electrical issues already though :(

The flap for charging does not even close flush ! And ipad looks like an after thought because they forgot to fit correctly..... 'someone pass the glue'

True, both the petrol and ev charging flap don't sit flush! These cars were definitely rushed out. My business partner got his 2 weeks before me, and both have been back to main dealer. Both still there getting repairs. He has 90 miles done. Mine 400. Crazy stuff.
