I think the only actual difference is that the old ones were known to occasionally start smoking or melting during use and this new one is properly rated. Then they just made a big deal out of all the other features to distract you from the main reason that they changed it, so that you dont lose trust in their products 😁

I have the original, I really wish that they could have made the newer model not get so hot. I only will use this to style after rough drying my hair first because it gets burning hot. Even doing this, I noticed my angled sides were getting a bit damaged and I have switched back to mostly using a round brush and blow dryer to style. The revlon one step is definitely easier to use, but its not worth damaging my long hair.

I have had one awhile now and I do like it I just feel the same as you with how it doesn’t get roots well... And I feel when you dry it right out of shower it takes awhile so I blow dry with regular one for a bit just to get wetness out then blow dry with the brush for a different volume...

After watching Nadine Baggott demonstrate her favorite straightening brush, I purchased a Revlon straightening brush. It's not round, but it does help shine and smooth my hair. It isn't for wet hair. I air dry my hair with Living Proof Perfect Hair Day 5 in 1 styling cream and use the Revlon tool after it's completely dry.

Abby are you sure you have the new one? The new one looks different than what you are reviewing. The new one has a smaller brush and a metal ion finish. And it's only available at Costco. I'm confused. Because the new one looks totally different than the old one. Love your channel!

I was super confused by this as well so I've been doing some research and now I'm here to offer my findings :D Revlon did come out with a new hair dryer brush called the Titanium Max. It's smaller and has a metal plate around the barrel. That said, I believe it's been discontinued already because it's unavailable on their website. Possibly due to safety concerns, as people said it got very hot. I have a hunch that after the Max failed, they re-packaged the original volumizer and labeled it "new & improved" to draw people in, which has thrown everyone for a loop because this model has actually been available (from what I can tell) since 2016! It's just now blowing up because of TikTok. Since they've been super vague and misleading about it, I have to assume that they're making this claim in comparison to another model called the One-Step Hair Dryer & Styler, which can be found here: www.revlonhairtools.com/us_en/dryers/pro-collection-salon-one-step-hair-dryer-and-styler-1430 And would explain the issue with the vents, as well. Super shady of them, tbh. But I hope this helps!

Hi Abbey, I have the original Revlon One Step Hairdryer and Volumiser only a few months ago! But I can't use this at the moment because the way my hair is right now! I'm using the Supersonic Dyson Hairdryer at the moment. I did hear that there is a smaller version of this hair tool. The only really difference that I see here is the brush itself is smaller. YES Titanium is the newest and available at Costco only (I did purchased it at Costco and going back) not even comparable to the original. However, before that one(titanium), Revlon did come out with another version of the original.

I’ve had two originals, and although I LOVE them, I have to say that once the first one got older, it started smelling like smoke and almost caught on fire once. I tossed it and got another one. Has been fine so far, but hopefully the new model prevents the issue.

I have one of these and I love it!! But I have started to see so many people complaining and saying not to use it because it was just breaking there hair!! It makes me hesitant in using it because my hair is already super fragile. Have you had any problem with this?

In the store! I checked their website before purchasing and this is the model that they show for the new upgrade. That may have been the titanium Max one which is only available at Costco from what I’ve seen!

I know this is so long ago, but unfortunately both are bad is what I've read. One entails pulling / yanking (blowdry) & the other involves pulling AND sandwiching on both sides with heat. Hopefully there will be a technology soon that will help us all !

I'm really pissed off because I ordered this for pickup at Walmart and it never said it was the new and improved version. I've been watching quite a few videos and everyone's been saying they don't like the new version the original is the better one and makes your hair look nicer. so I start thinking I'm paranoid and crazy and start looking up more videos while I'm on your video. i do not recommend this what so ever! i used this for a year to style my hair with all the things to help my hair from burning however after a year i had to cut off 10 inches off because of how damaged my hair got. and mind you i took all the steps to ensure my hair to stay healthy and protected. I have been using dyson air wrap from 6 months and my hair has been exactly the same as it was 6 months ago.
