I would put the golden cabinet on the other side of the fireplace , right now because of the wall being shorter it seems that de cabinet is huge and it doesn’t quite fit . change it to the other side and put a bigger plant with a cute vase on the side where the cabinet is right now , that’s just my opinion ! The DVDs need to go, they really throw off the aesthetics. Place them in some cute baskets or something. Also, the brown boxes in the upper left should be moved. I’d just use the shelves for displaying plants and Knick knacks

I don’t think the gold cabinet works in that room. Since the room is pretty full with the sofa and loveseat I think the cabinet makes the room feel too full of furniture. Just my opinion, absolutely love your aesthetic!

With the dvds I would personally dot them around the shelves and then put some trailing plants on the shelves above the dvds to camouflage them as although you need to keep them they don’t need to be on show. Also I would definitely paint the bedroom door and the fireplace in the same colour as the wardrobes. Hope the op goes well and you make a speedy recovery x

Love the dark wardrobes and the idea of the dark door. Wish you could do another complimentary color but I can’t think of one at the moment. I also agree with everyone about the DVD’s.... if only you could get storage baskets and arrange them by genre? Idk, they’re just the first thing my eyes go to because they’re so bright!! Also love the gold cabinet against the dark walls, but the fireplace does throw it off a little bit. Maybe you could put the gold lamp on one side and then angle the gold cabinet on the opposite side? Maybe that way it won’t feel so cluttered... if that makes sense x Super excited for you and for what is to come!

Hey Gab! Love the house so far!!! As for the DVDS, I switched over a couple years ago from keepings all the bulky DVD plastic cases, to buying DVD slips from eBay, and just keeping them with the disc and the paper insert slipped inside, that way your DVD collection gets shrunk down considerably in bulk and you can hide them away easily in a decorative box or a cabinet. Super cost effective and will help to simplify your shelves ❤️❤️

I would personally not have the dvds in the shelving, if anything I would have the dvds somewhere hidden from view, because as much as watching dvds is great fun, they're not the most aesthetically pleasing thing to look at haha. I would personally stick to those shelves looking visually pleasing rather than for storage as it will always look a little untidy and non-matching then; if you really need to use those shelves as storage though, you could always purchase a few natural or white cane baskets to put in the shelving which you can then store the less 'pretty' things in

dvds in baskets, and placed symetrical in the unit so there's room on either side of the dvds for some greenery & the blue chair and that tall plant into the corner thats now the coffee table and tv (so just move those over a bit). Fireplace in bedroom: pick a colour in the tile that you'd like to paint it in, or do it the same colour as the wardrobes.

I think you should switch the sofas in your living room for now! Keep the boho room white and make it colorful with accessories. Then for the big shelves put the dvds in neutral baskets and spread them out a bit. Also separate the brown books/folders and mostly put greenery and a couple of colorful nick-nacks. Just some of my ideas. I honestly wish I was in Brighton. Interior design is my favorite and I would love to just come over and help you sort it all out!💜

Maybe you could place the DVDs on lower shelves in baskets with the spines facing up. So that they're hidden but you can easily find what you're looking for. I think the shelves could do with a couple more plants and some empty vases/ decorative dishware. For the living room, I think it would be super cool to have a gallery wall above the grey couch instead of a large print or a couple prints of the same size. Good luck with your operation! Glad you decided to keep the dark wardrobe. I would paint the fireplace dark like you suggested to match the tiles. In the living room I like your gold cabinet. I would try to get another gold cabinet and have a matching one on each side of the fireplace. I would put your dvds in the second gold cabinet in the living room. That would put your dvds near your tv where it is easier for you to reach them. And it would free up space on the shelving for your plants.

Cut the dead leaves off the Ivy, and try placing it somewhere else with less direct sunlight on it. Also it doesn't require much watering, so water it only when the top soil is dry. Drainage is important!

Maybe you could knock out/get someone to remove just a few of the shelves? So then you have small compact shelf spaces for things like the DVDs, and some larger spaces at the bottom where there would be adequate room for a plant to live - lots of small shelves look a bit cluttered, but if you have them ALL ripped out you'd have to find other storage for DVDs, photos etc

Regarding the shelves I'd put the dvds in pretty boxes or I'd space them out! Or you can put them backwards so the colours don't show! And space out the photo albums, maybe 3 per shelf and make them symetrical, ex. mirror the left shelves to the right ones! Lots of love and a speedy recovery!

Suggestion: for the spare room instead of painting the bottom part of the room, paint the section above the edging that is three quarters up the wall. I’ve done that before and then kept the bottom part of the wall white and it was really nice!

Everything is looking great, in the bedroom I would love to see the door and the fireplace painted a dark wine colour . I would make a folding screen for a corner some where in the house by using piano hinges and wood cut to same size and find a design wallpaper to cover the screen,with the paint colours you used in the house with a pop of colour in the print of the wallpaper and place a chair or chase lounge in front it with maybe a floor plant to one side. take care

Love your bedroom and now that everything's in there I feel like the fireplace would look best as white as the tiles have the black and the plenty of black in the room now, looks great. Love the mirror, and the cabinet you said you getting rid of in bedroom actually goes really well with the darks in the room. love idea of chair but before getting rid of cabinet think about how much would use chair or if it would become a dumping ground. also, could use that cabinet for your dvds and books...different drawer for different category might work great. doesn t have to be in same room as tv's

Hello, yes I too think it’s the DVD’s that are the issue. I have to hide mine in a cupboard. Regarding the ivy, just clip the dead, brown bit off at the base it’s beyond help. The other bit looks ok. You could always freshen up with some fresh compost to give it a boost. Ivy’s don’t mind shade. I love your catplanter, where is it from please. On the gold cabinet, I would commission a sculpture of your beautiful puss cat Nelson from artist Suzie Marsh. But again that’s just me. I love Nelson’s voice, my Maine coon speaks too! Love xx

The DVD cases take up so much space, have you tried DVD disk cases? They can hold up too 100 DVDs and they keep them all in one place and are easy to store in a draw, for styling the shelves keep it minimal in each shelf as there is so many it may be over powering!

I think I would get some nice boxes to put the DVDs in and then store the boxes on the shelf’s , I recently took all our Disney DVDs and put them in a cd holder / book /album thingy which I can now store in a draw out the way as I couldn’t find anywhere to store all the boxes! A couple recommendations: Maybe if you fill your shelves from the bottom to the top it will looks less busy. Visually if the bottom is empty and the top is full it makes it look uneven and it's unpleasant to the sight. Keep the dvds and albums/files just put them lower and leave the top shelves for things that are more "airy" such as plants/deco. Maybe once the tv is mounted you can put your velvet teal armchair where your tv is now, it might look nice cornered. It can also serve as seating in case you have people around.

Just my opinion not saying you need to but... I think for the DVDs you could put them in baskets maybe. Primark have some cute metal geometric ones in gold, pink, white and black or even rattan baskets which you can get on Amazon to hide them completely and if you dont care about the cases take them all out and put them in a flip disc holder thing 😂 Also do the fireplace black it will look amazing ❤ In the living room the gold cabinet could maybe go back to the other side but on an angle facing the pink sofa if that makes sense ? Or even just move it maybe into the dining room on the wall opposite the shelves and put your dvds in that. As for prints try online sellers possibly etsy or even street artists. Be nice having something thats not in every house/flat

I think you should put the photo albums closer to the bottom and break them up, you want to try and at levels to the shelf, so you could try lying down a couple of books or dvds and put something decorative on top

You may have overwatered the ivy. Their leaves go dry and crispy when they’re too wet. Try and change the soil so it’s not sitting in damp soil.
