Marco Polo very wrong. The play still holds true to all the historical aspects within the story(mostly), but it is expressed in a unique way where all the actors are a representation of the diversity of America. The play never claims that Hamilton was historically a Hispanic man, but the play writers found a different and entertaining way to talk about one of the founding fathers. As long as the story is mostly historically accurate, than the playwriters can visually interpret their Art in any way they want, without it being "fake".

It's pointless to talk with Trump supporters at all, for any reason. Does anyone think they will change their minds? Does anyone listen to conservative ideology and think they bring refreshing, novel ideas to the table? I don't. These people are the _opposition_. They aren't some force to be reckoned with, they should be ignored, disregarded, not even critiqued. So many resources and so much time is spent debating, talking with, protesting against these people. Why? While simultaneously calling them senseless, illogical and irrational we're still convinced we can facilitate a change in them. It's not going to happen. These people are the enemy. Spend time organizing _each other_ and focusing time and resources on getting more progressive minds into ALL positions of influence. Other resources can be spent on legal teams to help defend those who do not have the luxury like you and I to be talking about this on the internet against the racists, the capitalists (who rely on poverty to function, it's a system built on inequality after all), the bigots and all the other assorted assholes on the right. That's it. That is all we should focus our energy on. Not trying to change other people, not trying to be right (as we've seen, even when evidence shows is undeniable, they simply do not care), not making a mockery of Trump, not lampooning the entirety of the Republican party. Organizing each other towards the ends we desire, while setting aside resources for legal defense teams. I haven't engaged anyone on the right in a debate or conversation in years. I do not have friends who hold opinions that correlate to conservative ideology, I will not have any of that negative, absurd, incompatible antiquated garbage anywhere near my existence. It has given me some perspective and I have never been more at peace in my life than when I developed a well to instantly filter out the assholes.

No one is trying to silence anyone "by force" ... they are simply asking you this: yes, you have "free speech" yeefuckinghaw, but why would you want to make the choice to be an asshole to begin with when an alternative less asshole-ish option also exists? + Bob Bobby As a liberal, Donald Trump obviously irks me. Not only do I disagree ideologically with Trump, but I also find him morally reprehensible and frankly doltish. In 2012, I voted for Obama over Romney, but I respected Romney's convictions. Trump, in stark contrast, is a political chameleon (He makes most politicians look like saints in this regard). He demands respect and adulation, yet he shows no respect for the office of President. On top of that, the man is not learned on any subject and doesn't even know how to effectively string a sentence together. Many liberals feel this way; when they look at Trump, they see an embarrassment. He is, to me at least, the manifestation of the worst elements of American culture- unbridled consumerism, herd culture, the military-industrial complex, and idiocracy. I thought, naively, that we had learned our lesson after the fiasco of the Bush years. But we obviously have a lot to learn.

Everyone in my family and my close friends (except one) were Bernie supporters and I can assure you that they are all like me regarding Santa Clause, Hamilton, have nothing against hispanic baseball players or men kissing each other or Bruce Jenner. L B - There is a problem in your logic since you seem to be talking about real supporters of Trump, meaning those who would prefer Trump over everyone else, including Bernie. Those people are very different than the ones in my circle who just saw Trump as being a better option than Hillary (who really was awful). Our first pick was Bernie. But even those people, you can't judge a group of people in general just from what you see online. The best way to determine this is by looking at people who are popular among Trump supporters, like Crowder. Yes he is an idiot and I don't like him, but I don't think even he espouses any of those views Bill Maher mentioned.
