I'm from Brazil and this shock price is a shock in my bank account. Beyond the still high price for me, is still add some more 70~120% for tributes and tax for the government. But it is good to know that there are some guys out there doing something to bring better rides to meteor 350.
@wspollack12 күн бұрын
For those of us in North America: I was seriously interested in the "2win" Shock Factory shocks for my '22 Meteor 350, but now I have to come up with another potential solution to the less-than-stellar OEM shocks. The price of the 2win shocks was JUST at the upper limit of what I would be willing to spend, but I encountered the following situation yesterday: 1) Marc's discount code has reached its limit of use, or something like that. In any case, the code was no longer accepted at check-out. 2) The shipping to my home in North America -- New York State, in my case -- was very expensive: USD 177. That brought the total price of the black version -- USD 553 -- and shipping to USD 730. That total was more than I was willing to spend -- it's about 15% of the cost of new Meteor -- so I did not complete the checkout. I trust Marc's judgement that these are a significant improvement compared to the stock shocks, but the total is just too much for me. So I guess these shocks may be an acceptable choice for those in Europe, where I gather the shipping cost is either free or MUCH less expensive.

The code is activated again.

Hi Marc, Glad to hear that you are happy with new shocks. I have done about 1500 km's on my Meteor 350 with them & can honestly say in combination with a set of Bridgestone BT46 tyres it's money well spent. The ride comfort & handling is night & day compared to the stock tyres & shocks. Spring is just around the corner. Ride safe, kind regards, David.
@Marc.Stones13 күн бұрын
Hi David, good to hear that you have good experiences with the shocks 👍 Are you using the BT46 with spoked wheels and tube, or aluminum rims? Cheers Marc

@@Marc.Stones Aluminium rims. Although I like the look of spoked , they are more practical for me.

Thank you for another great and informative video. However, there is one more shock that is a popular upgrade for the Meteor, the gas filled shocks from the old Bullet 500. It would be interesting to see how they compare to the Shock Factory units.

Hello Mac, I have done more than 6000 km with shock factory shock absorbers and I am very happy with them. The harder it is, the less comfortable it is, so it is a choice depending on the roads on which you drive. Can you give me the tightening torque, because I did not have a torque wrench at the time? And I hesitate to put a DNA filter, I am not sure if it really changes anything, I remain skeptical. Your videos are very interesting and complete, thank you best regards. Hello from France
@Marc.Stones14 күн бұрын
Hi, thanks for your feedback about the shock factory suspension. I could not find a factory torque too, but I tighten them with 25-28 nm. I can recommend the DNA air filter, better torque on hills and the engine runs smooth. Cheers Marc

I was just looking at the 1127-page PDF Meteor 350 shop manual ("METEOR - Service Manual - Global Market - Version 1"), and it looks to me as if different values are listed, i.e., Royal Enfield does not seem to be consistent about this, if I am reading the manual correctly: - On page 238, the torque for the top shock bolt is listed as 20 - 30 N⋅m. - On page 305, the torque for the top shock bolt is listed as 32 - 38 N⋅m. - On page 305, the torque for the bottom shock bolt is listed as 25 - 35 N⋅m. - On page 306, the torque for the bottom shock bolt is listed as 25 - 35 N⋅m. So, um, somewhere in those ranges should be okay. Anyone else have the shop manual, and can verify what I seem to have understood on those pages, that I'm reading this information correctly? I'm a little surprised that the Shock Factory shocks didn't include an instruction sheet with a recommended torque values.

I had Hagon shocks on my BMW and sidecar outfit, Marc, Not bad, but I changed for Oehlins later.. but will have to change them now, after 27 years and more than 100.000 kms. I am pretty sure the french company shock absorbers are the best possible choice, those guys seem to know exactly what they do.

I have a Hunter 350 and changed the shocks for Hagen shocks. Unfortunately I found no increase in comfort. The Hunter is just too harsh and this still transmits to the rider. I expect I will get a more comfortable bike.

Nice upgrade! I’ll keep it in mind when I get my Meteor 350. I’m still debating whether to go for it or avoid RE after having several issues with my previous Classic 350 and none with my current Honda CL 500.
@CapitanAsia15 күн бұрын
What kind of issues did you have with the Classic? I'm thinking about getting one!
@rumblyalpinerides14 күн бұрын
@ 1 - faulty speedometer, took 5 months for the manufacturer to get me a new one under warranty; 2 - intermittent braking with the front while braking lightly; 3 - at about 2500/3000 rpms the engine misfired while accelerating with the gas partially open, as if it was running to lean. Nothing major but as I am looking for a motorcycle to keep over the years I didn’t want one already that much problematic in the first thousands of kms of its life. Mine was a 2022 model so probably the first batches of production. Probably some issues got solved or won’t be present in the Meteor 350.

Interessantes Video.
