Wow that shorter vans are just the business for two people very nice thanks Bob.

Well done Bob a great video and I do like the idea of these shorter vans especially where storage is limited and they have achieved a lot with the lower amount of space they look very cosy especially for two people and same quality as the larger vans love the light interior which make them look airy inside Thanks for taking us around all the best Daniel

Todd’s are a good dealer. Nice selection of smaller vans there. The big one at the start is a nice van too. Surprised it’s still up for grabs 🙂 Trev

Thanks Bob. The F Lines are greatly reduced due to the Series 10 coming for MY25. Auto Trail have made big changes to the range inkeeping with the Ford upgrades. They now have Lithium, 200w solar plus improved furnishings, roof lights, low level entry, new oven... it's a long list! The Xzent headunit has now been replaced with Fords own 12" media. The F Line was launched as entry level back in 2020 but will be mid range from 2025 due to the culling of both Tracker & Apache. Expedition is now the entry level van. On your next visit to Todds (great company!) keep an eye for the new Roller Teams, the T LIne 750 & Pegaso 750. Take care guys!

I've always thought a great solution to combine space with a shorter length is with the Overcab bed. Allows you a fixed bed very similar to these drop-down over-lounge beds but you avoid having to have a either/or Bed or Lounge space. I have the Autotrail Cheyenne with overcab bed and I don't see any real disadvantage over these electric beds and so many pluses over them.
@BobEarnshawMoHo2 ай бұрын
There is so much less to go wrong with a pull down over cab bed.
@tommo97572 ай бұрын
I think it's the exterior look that the over-cab bed produces that puts people off. However, I''ve got a Cheyenne too and I would agree that it's an excellent use of space.

If you ever take an overcab on a ferry or on the peage in France you'll soon discover a couple of expensive disadvantages.
@BobEarnshawMoHo2 ай бұрын
What are the disadvantages?
@kevinbennett4372 ай бұрын
@@BobEarnshawMoHo...... I live on the Isle of Wight Bob, and as well as the overall length of the vehicle, height is also a real factor in the cost of ferry travel. The French peage autoroutes have a cut off of 3 metres in height before you pay a higher tariff..... which most motorhomes with an overcab bed are significantly higher than that. Must admit, our friends have just bought a Burstner with a drop down bed, and I'm pretty sold on the idea. I guess there is the thought that it is just something else to go wrong, but the Benimar we were looking at has the facility to manually raise and lower it if there was a problem with the electrics.

I popped into Todd’s a while ago and had a look around your old van. I’m interested to know about the rear o/s outer door locker has a catch to hold the door open was this catch standard or did you have it fitted?

We're thinking about changing our motorhome and want to stay with a 6 metre van. Was interested in the Benimar Tessoro T 481..... until I did more research on the Ford Transit base vehicle with the 2 litre EcoBlue engine. How Ford ever concluded that the ridiculous 'wet belt' cambelt system was a good idea is beyond me. They've had so many problems a failures of the belt, as the oil it runs in actually degrades the rubber, that Ford have reduced the replacement interval from 10 years down to 6. Apparently only more major Ford dealers with the specialist tools can carry out the eight hour task (which includes having to remove the sump to ensure no fragments of the degraded belt remain in the engine). I contacted my local Ford dealer to obtain a quote for the belt change. £1,400. Ridiculous to have to spend that kind of money every six years. I've totally drawn a line under any motorhome with the 2 litre Ford engine. Nice motorhomes in the video though Bob. Some very ingenious design features......... if only they weren't on Ford cabs.

Bob, have you ever managed to work out what the numbers mean attached to motorhomes ? Some I can work out but most seem to be random.
@BobEarnshawMoHo2 ай бұрын
Not always. Our van is a 784 and it's 7.84 metres long but that doesn't work for the 774, which is also 7.84 metres. Bailey are better at the numbers game. The 69-4T is 6.9 metres, a 4 belted seats and (T)win beds. Their 74-4DL is 7.4 metres long, 4 belted seats, and a double lounge.
