People may moan about Sky, or the direction they are going.... But we are so happy Glass was an option. We have been with Sky over 14 years. We moved up to Scotland from South East England, we had SkyQ and we thought that getting Sky TV up here would be fine. Well, we moved to Dingwall, a quiet little place just outside Inverness, and when it came to installation, the Dish couldn't bounce of the Satellite dish because we had not one hill, but a further hill behind that with massive trees as far as the eyes could see. We had no choice (as the council were not about to cut down numerous trees for our TV), so we had to go with Glass. Now we have a high end LG NanoCell 55'' in the bedroom, the other half games on his Oled C2, so we were....... dubious about the Glass TV and it's quality. Luckily our Internet is top notch. Sky gave us a deal for the full package, all channels that they have, plus Paramount and Netflix, 65'' TV for £88 a month and just £10 up front which we thought was ridiculous lol, we though they may have meant £100, but nope..... just £10. Have too say, the picture is very good, great 4K quality, very fast and responsive, nice rich colour, good contrast.... great sound bar..... Really can't complain. If Glass wasn't an option, we would have literally had to have had Now TV and that is crap. Really annoys me when people say ''Now TV is basically Sky''. No it isn't..... the sheer number of channels we have, all the music, all the movies, all the sports in UHD, plus Netflix and Paramount thrown in, the same package on Now TV, paying for the separate sporting events, movies we watch and Netflix and Paramount subs, came too WAY more than what we are paying. Well worth it.

@@TheTechGiantKZbin I got the tv package with the 4 screen Netflix included because it works out at £8 a month for Netflix and and brought the sky cinema pack which again it’s totally worth it as you get sky cinema and full access to paramount plus for £13 which is still a good deal in my eyes lol i pay it 30days I didn’t want to get a 18 month contract as it’s only a extra couple of £ without it lol

I believe you still can't create seperate profiles for your sky account ( sad right in 2023 ) However if you can create profiles using sky now which is an alternative for now

I've not had Now TV for many years, but I believe this offers more chammels and this also does 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos, not sure that Now TV does.

@@TheTechGiantKZbin good point. ‘Boost’ is extra and only gives you HD. But what I like about it , you can cancel anytime. What about the Sky service ? I used to have Sky but it got so expensive and was a nightmare to talk to an agent

Hi Paul, I hope you are all well. When sky glass was first announced I was very much looking forward to it but the deal breaker for me was not being able to record live TV, I imagine the same for this, but as a streaming box you can't fault sky, like you I have sky Q so if the menu and user interface on the stream is the same then it would probably be the best streaming box.

How does it compare to UHD HDR 4k Sky Q? Also you have top speed broadband, would it bo OK on lesser speeds? Can't get full fibre yet.

Not tested it against Sky Q 4K yet, but I will be doing that. I believe you need around 10Mbps for HD and around 25 for 4K

10 MB/s is recommended to stream normal and it’s recommended a minimum of 30MB/s for 4k

That I'm unsure of. For me to get my hands on it I had to order it to another address due to me already being with Sky. It said on their website that I already have Sky Q and it then kicked me off the buying page. So I guess you have to cancel your existing contract or maybe get it swapped over.

The thing I don’t like about sky is that it is by far the least flexible provider out there, I subscribe to sky sports and BT sport through BT, myself and a mate share the package, we pay half each of £23.35 each for all of BT And Sky’s sports channels each month, I watch via the box, he watches via the BT sport and Now tv apps, to have BT sport and Sky sports via sky new sky stream service it would be £80 a month on a rolling contract, subscribing to sky via a different company and paying a lot less is ridiculous 😂😂

Sky streaming is a gimmick. Expensive and cheap. Also using up bandwidth if you have a lot of devices or stream games. Pointless. But it's new so plenty of 🐑 will purchase.
