You said "it depends on your taste". I say, my taste is please do better on the labels, Speedball. I feel slightly misled, tbh. But that Dragon Stone and the Lavender Mist are gorgeous!

I agree with you, it looks like the labels were done with a macro lens and show the glazes way too close up to really get a good idea as to what they will look like on a piece.

Dragon stone just looks like Copper red from John Britt (recipe number 3722 on Glazy). And Lavender mist (please Speedball, chose another name, it will be too confusing) looks like Peacock by David Tsabar (number 19163 on Glazy).

I have a feeling that all the satin (dull) colours will be a lot different on other clays than porcelain and at cone 6.

I think so too. I can’t wait to try them on dark and speckled clays!

They should call it mystic lavender

Thanks Jessica. I tend to agree with you on the favorites. I'm wondering what firing hotter would do, as well as a more normal cool. Test tiles are great for giving us ideas, but the true test is real fires, in full blown kilns on full size pieces, as we know. I enjoyed watching this.

I noticed this after I tried their wisteria and it turned out nothing like the container, but I think most of their samples are at cone 6, if you google speedball + the name of the glaze it has a description of the cone 5 vs cone 6 results which isn’t on the packaging which revealed that the variegation and glossiness of their wisteria one was only at cone 6, which sort of disappointed me

Can’t wait to try a few of these. One thing that really makes me mad at glaze companies is when the test tiles aren’t anything close to the true color you get.

Many of them do look better at cone 6 but I fire to cone 5 so that doesn’t work for me..
