Based on what i can remember of the Brickdam station complex, i had suggested they build a C shape building with parking in the center, with entrances from Hatfield street and Brickdam. Instead of fencing the building, they could have build out to the drains and install sidewalks around the perimeter, along with landscaping to the front and back of the building. That was my suggestion to maximize space and beautification for that part of the city.

I attended both schools on brickdam. The school at Camp and Brickdam used to be called St. Mary’s RC school. It was related to the cathedral across the street. A few alter boys from the church did attend the school in my day. The shell of a building that used to be a school used to house Muslim school. Can’t remember if it was a primary or secondary school. Good to see Saints again.

Seems like Guyana doesn’t have architects and engineers who can design and build complex structures? Everything is done by the Chinese, using Chinese labor. Correct me if I’m wrong Raphael, but i always see the same company logo at construction sites. CNQC!

The government does not want to employ Guyanese engineers and professionals because they are not friends and family of the pppc. There was a big spread in the government news paper the chronicle about the first Medical Physicist who is an Indian student just returned from studies with a masters degree. Guyana’s first medical physicist obtained a masters and a PhD from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland in the early 1990s. He is black and not a member of the pppc.
