With every single video, I'm more and more worried. It's the Saints Row situation all over again - writers try too hard but do not understand what made the previous games good, so they go way over the top with the silinness and craziness. And it just comes off as super forced. This video is a great example of that.

I'd say it's more that the writers didn't quite remember what gets people hyped with their outstanding example of Wonderlands. With how quickly it's already releasing, I'd say that they had already been writing it well into Wonderlands's development and thus didn't bother to restart it when they noticed the reputation it got.

I get that the text popping up on screen is supposed to 'enhance' what the characters are saying by giving it extra 'weight' in the moment...but it doesn't work when the text feels like it's just there for the sake of being there when nothing interesting is actually being said, yanno? It doesn't help, it's just a hindrance imo. There's no actual impact.

Definitely, u need more than 30 sec to judge a game. Although, I think at this point we've consumed so much BL content that the taste is getting stale, ykwim? Like, it rides heavily on the craziness and sillyness and shock factor, but after 5 games we're desensitized to it to a point where it's hard to get the same effect. But, also maybe because of that we should focus more on the characters we already know and love? Use the emotional investment that's already there instead of making more characters that we know are gonna be abandoned and forgotten after this game?🤔

Take a look back at the TFTBL1 premier trailer. See how it expertly advertises the Borderlands universe to you, and it’s interesting characters with excellent voices behind them. I was keen for this game, but everything we've seen of these characters has turned me off completely. The writing is terrible but the voice acting just sounds completely off. A game like bl3 can survive lousy writing and average at best voice acting. A game that is nothing but story and dialogue feels like it'll be hell with these characters.
