I much prefer the chrome to the satin black but my prejudice may have been influenced by black on cars in the past such as the BMW 3 Series denoting the entry levels models whereas the chrome embellishments identified the higher priced 6 cyl models. Of course Ford were the past masters of adding more chrome as you advanced from the L, to GL, GLX, Ghia, Ghia X. I am probably also portraying my age by saying that I think Tesla have taken its minimalist, button free design to the extreme. At the very least the Model 3 should have a head up display for speed and immediate Sat Nav directions. The tablet display is too tempting to be distracted by whereas at least one supplementary screen would not take your eyes as far off your driver’s sight line.

KEY POINTS. 1. Substandard Paint Quality, PATHETIC. 2. Faux Leather Seats, PATHETIC. 3. An over abundance of ALUMINUM front and rear, PATHETIC. The Model 3 exterior is about as durable as a Coke can! 4. 5 inch ground clearance, PATHETIC. The Model 3 bottoms out over speed bumps! 5. No SPARE TIRE or RUN FLAT TIRES, PATHETIC. WTF!!!!! 6. Poor overall workmanship, PATHETIC. This is a poorly designed, poorly equipped car for the price, that simply cannot be denied. Other than the software package, there is NOTHING premium about this car! The paint quality is absolutely LAUGHABLE! This vehicle cannot be run through an automatic car wash, unless you desire the paint to be riddled with scratches. Elon has delivered a STUNNING software package locked within a HORRENDOUS hardware package. I’ll pass until quality is VASTLY IMPROVED!

I think Tesla also dropped the performance on the 0-60 times across all the versions. Instead of spending all that extra money on the Performance version, we opted to buy the LR and chip in for the performance "boost" at $2,000. That split the 0-60 difference almost exactly in half for a lot less money. We didn't like the lower chassis in our snowy climate nor the expensive, noisy, and hard riding tires on the performance version anyway.

For all that has been invested in this car, for what they charge for it... to still have fit and finish and panel gap issues, is inexcusable. I suspect the main reason for switching the trim from chrome to black is to disguise that issue, rather than address it and fix it. It’s 2021 and Tesla can’t rest on being a start up. This all being said, it is a beautiful car, and its power and range should stifle any closed minded gas adherent. @@romansenger2322 Which doesn't in any way negate the use of HUDs. 1) There seems to be this absurd belief that the level of self driving will be so high nobody will drive. 2) That with self driving introduction nobody will want to drive themselves ever and all will be like drones at all times. Nonsense. 3) That HUDs are not viable for EVs with any level of FSD. This is false and it has been shown that HUDs are useful in all modes, especially as they convey useful information for anyone looking out the windscreen as they should be. 3D AR HUDs are being developed and integrated for a reason. People will still be driving and going between modes for many many years. This is especially important for cars without drivers gauges, situational awareness, and AR visual elements. This is also something that should be available at the high costs of top Teslas even as options. The chief reason they dont use them is because Elon irrationally doesn't like them and likely they don't like the extra cost. This isn't a criticism of you. Thank you for your reply.

Be careful. Cabin radiation is a concern. Newer Toyota and Lexus hybrids and Nissan electric seem to have a better shield over the electric components keeping cabin radiation low. Audi and Tesla are one of the highest. EV buyers are often health conscious. It is easy to shield with metallic sheets but they won't factory install until it becomes a widespread concern as usual.

I think for me as good as this car is. The network of Super Chargers & just chargers in general are not good enough yet for my needs. I live in the NE of Scotland & quite regularly go on trips around the highlands of Scotland & some of the Outer Hebrides Islands such as the Isle of Lewis. I thought it was interesting the picture of the network of charger & superchargers shown during the film was centred around London & say a 200 mile radius where there are many chargers however as I say it nothing like that around the remote parts of Scotland. I think for me it’s just to impractical to own an electrical car.

I would love to buy this car but I really want a 360 degree camera to help with parking so if this card doesn't have that then it could be a deal breaker for me. I assumed with all the cameras it has that it would definitely have a 360 camera but looks like my assumption was wrong! Such a shame that a car at this price range with all of these features can't offer a simple 360deg camera!

I can agree with the too simple design which actually makes it look a bit bland but I wouldn't like it to differ from a ICE car way too much like some other small EVs did in the past years. The quality of material and solidity in my T3 is better than my wifes Audi A3 etron; I understand that simplicity of the design is not for everyone, but don't confuse minimalist look with quality of materials . In my case the panel gaps are just as good, though I know that is not always the case.

@@Tom55data I just find the interior a bit uninteresting. I prefer to see use of contrasting materials and colours. There doesn't seem to be many trim options. I have also seen numerous other videos that show poor quality panel gaps, rear light misting and the rear bumper falling off very easily. I'm impressed with the range and performance, but I think I would be very wary of the build quality.

Harry you didn't give it a fair cost value usage & resale appraisal 8 out of 10 new cars are purchased on finance. Often by companies for their employees, on a lease to zero in 4 years or on giving an employee a monthly or yearly sum & 90% of those go for a PCP contract over 3 or 4 years. This is the 21st Century Mundano man mobile. So 4 doors, room for two sets of golf clubs in the boot. ISO child seat fixing points alround. Then its BIK. Then its fuel. He can have a,charging point fitted at home. He'll check his favourite night stop hotels, pubs & restaurants have charging facilities. Gone are the days of " I've just got to pop down the petrol station luv." Don't forget he can charge back his employer for the electricity &&& use of the home for business purposes! It's the same working from home. What's not to like about waking up in the morning at home or at your over night stop & opening the curtains to see a frost or layer of snow. Then pick up your phone & tapping an icon before you go for breakfast! Then going out to a nice warm demisted car with the steering wheel warm to the touch. In the summer aircon. Then there is servicing. If drive to work you can charge it, reserve next space to yours for the service van. Cost of service? Frequency of service? My best guess is forget service & MOT. MOT before first service visit unless a warning light come on, on the dash. When come to sell/trade in. What's to wear/wear out that costs a lot of money? Brake pad & discs, ball joints, rose joints. Maybe a CV joint gaiter! Not forgetting to oil the door hinges(2 per door) + bonnet & boot. That's 12 in total! We'll have mechanics claiming fore RSI.

I personally do not like the black satin trim with the white paint. I ordered a Model 3 LR about 2 weeks ago and was going to have white until I found this out. I like the flush door handles, but to pick them out in black against the white makes them stand out which seems contradictory to me. I therefore ordered the blue at extra cost. I am pleased with all the other improvements though, it should arrive in about 3 more weeks, so fingers crossed I get one with decent panel gaps.

Centre console update is a coin flip really. The space inside the 2019 car is very useful and I wouldn't say the flip panels were flimsy at all. I did indeed wrap my centre console and don't judge others who leave the piano black. Same with the chrome delete really. It's personal preference. To be honest these are very minor things when you think about the fact that Tesla have only existed on the roads for about 10 years and they have come so far. I had to decide between the Jaguar I-Pace and the Model 3 and the deciding factor was the Superchargers hands down!

They're not playing catch up. While Tesla struggled to be profitable the traditional manufacturers have been churning in massive profits while working on their own electric tech at a slow but steady pace. They were never interested in jumping into a market that doesn't bring any money too soon. And diesel remains a popular option in many countries as these are very good and efficient engines. If not for the silly propaganda against it they would be even more so.
